Hi. My father had an IHSS reassessment appointment on 6/17/2024. His hours were increased and his notice of action was received on 7/24/2024 with a notice date of 7/19/2024. It states on the Notice of Action an effective date for the increase of services (hours) is 8/01/2024. My question is, shouldn't his increase in services be effective back to the date of the reassessment which was 06/17/2024? Reply

I am a minority and all this talk about white supremacy is ridiculous. Those are topics mainly talked about in academia not in day to day life. Why can’t we just stick to the issue in helping those that might not be getting appropriate services because of language barriers or cultural differences. I know plenty of “white families” that are not getting appropriate services from RCOC also. It’s about fixing the problems and making it available for all. Policies should be colorless every human should be treated with dignity and respect. Yes totally agree with simplifying the system cutting red tape but all the white supremacy talk is crap. People like FMS etc are not even being paid, sure it not because of their color. The whole system needs to be fixed for everyone, period! Everyone that talks using those words and catch phrases are just showing off how much time they have spent in academia. Pls stop with the virtual signaling and virtual high 5s and let’s come together instead of dividing. I am sure there are plenty of white people in the audience that we’re turned off by those ridiculous statements. We need to all come together, no matter the skin color in order to produce change. The system is messed up for everyone, of course minorities will ultimately be worse off. BTW Loved Lulu suggestion of having the Lanterman act translated into Spanish etc. Minorities are beyond capable of advocating for ourselves and loved ones with the right tools. Impossible to navigate a systems that is broken for everyone.
