I'm a huge hockey fan, hoping to create unbiased, interesting and high quality hockey related videos for you guys! I hope you stick around and subscribe!
The way Sprong has been treated in his career is like he couldn't stop sleeping with the coach's wife. Either he has horrible breath, a personality like sandpaper, or the discipline of a 2 year old brat. Stats like his SHOULD speak for themselves. He's a -2 plus/minus career wise in 344 total NHL games, with a career 11.8% SP. Played a bit for Pittsburgh, Anaheim and Washington, but his 6th team in 10 years suggests he's a locker room cancer. Can't believe the Canuks got him so cheap.
The amount of turnovers he coughs up is telling. He has a very low hockey iq, and he's too lazy to either improve or at least recover from his mistakes. I remember how excited Penguins fans were when he was drafted and made the team out of camp. Every time he got the puck on his stick, he would try to skate through the entire defense instead of using his teammates. It's a very CHL play style that he somehow has never outgrown. You can only trust him in the offensive zone and nowhere else. Worse still, you can't even use him as a PP specialist positioned up-high because his backchecking is so atrocious, and he makes bad decisions on zone entries.
Incorrect, it’s a heavily biased and unreliable measure; literally depending on your linemates and when/how you get used (like who you play against or how much powerplays you are on) will vastly alter your stats.
I bought a penguins sprong sweater... cant say it got much use =o( I wish they just let him loose but he does suck defensively and coaches just feel like they can't trust him. I think he could have learned a lot playing behind phil the thrill.
and this is why you can't take advanced stats too seriously. He does have a great shot but saying he has one of the best is insane. That's why stats can be misleading. No doubt Sprong is good offensively, but it's not lke he would be an 80+ points player if he played top line minutes.
I’ve just been really busy with work unfortunately but still hoping to make videos in the future! These kinds of comments are very motivating haha so I appreciate it
Kids such a tool bag, dumb as bricks. If it wasnt for his fam kissing every ass they could to get him to the next level he'd be flipping burgers at mcds
As a Wings' fan, i hope Sprong gets a hat trick every game this season, and the Canucks lose every game 4-3, but in overtime, so they don't fold as a team, and have to endure this losing streak for longer. In all seriousness, Sprong had some absolutely clutch goals this season & he really capitalized on his 'should score' moments like breakaways. Great player.
Forsling is a solid skater, but he isn't anything special. I also notice EVERY video breakdown claims the player is a great skater when they aren't necessarily by NHL standards.
He is waaay better than a solid skater...above average speed (I've watched him play more than a few times), it's his edge work, mobility/lateral movement that really sets him apart, he's also an excellent backwards skater and turns very well, much better than the vast majority of other NHL defensemen. He is an elite defenseman in this era...reminds me of Heiskanen/Morrissey (but he doesn't get a huge number of points).
"Bruise on the leg is a helluva long way from the heart, you candy-ass..." "What'd you call me?!" "You heard me.." "You want me to play?! HUH?! Is that what you want?!" "I want you to be a hockey player!" "I AM A HOCKEY PLAYER! YOU WANT ME TO PLAY ON ONE LEG?! HUH!? I'LL PLAY ON ONE LEG!" "That'll get em' goin'!" "Oh, yeah...I'll clean up.."
As a Canucks fan, I remember when they traded him and I hated it. He had so much potential. They didn't really give him a chance though. I'm glad that he has realized his potential, just disappointed he isn't still on the Canucks. Great player.
Clickbait Bullshit. Sprong is Not "one of the best offensive players" he isn't even top 100. He's a 4th liner because he was horrible defensively and you have to limit his time so he doesn't cost your team wins.
I liked him as a Cap and wanted to see more of him, but he must piss the hell out of coaches because it’s not just the Caps that had issues with him. He basically has had issues with every coaching staff everywhere he’s gone.
Lmao I love Tkachuk so that didn’t happen because of my bias as a Canucks fan. I didn’t name all the players on that list as you might have noticed, and Tkachuk was one of them.
Wings fan here: Nucks fans will love him at the start, but by the end of the year, they'll see why he never stays with a team for very long. He only seems to care about scoring goals. His compete level is nearly zero. He only gets offensive zone starts and PP time, but even then, he can end up being a liability. I'm glad we didn't re-sign him.
I hope that doesn't end up happening with Demidov. So much is being said about his offensive creativity. But I've heard nothing of his defense. Fingers crossed.
Because his one way play...with sheltered minutes of offensive starts greater than defensive hes trash...a reason he played for 6 teams in 9 seasons...but make more content over 900k signings
Jeez. Sprong with Petey and Debrusk? Heinen with JT and Brock? Sherwood, garland,Blueger, Joshua, Suter, and more coming over the boards after that? Canucks
