I am an old guy (over 75) hiking and backpacking. Planning on a 2024 Pacific Crest Trail Thru hike. On this channel, you can watch the prep hikes in South Carolina, Georgia (on the AT), Arkansas (OHT), and Missouri (OT). Age is just a number...I have determined not to die in a rocking chair.

Enjoyed following you, along with a few other "mature" hikers. Watching thru-hikers makes me want to do it when I retire, but then I question how practical that is. Still able do week-long backpack outings now in my mid-60's.

I’ve been following you to see what is ahead for my brother, who is 64 and also on the trail. You are amazing! Congrats on the 700 miles!! It is never too late to follow a dream. I will continue to follow you just in case you decide to go another adventure
I'm 81 and have a dream to hike some sections of the PCT next year as I have walked multiple Calif sections. Some health concerns mainly sleep apnea, but I'm moving forward with my plans and you are a motivational individual to me.

Wayne, loved watching the tunnel go by. Would not like to run across the troll, especially at night. You look well and rested. Like your shot of the flowers, too. Beautiful yellow color. Keep on trekking.
About the 12:00 mark....that looks like the part of the PCT that I, along with some others, re-routed back in 1994. Seems that the community of Lytle Creek and a shooting area that was moved to a new position. The PCT was on the shooting area side of the ridge. The Forest Service thought it would be a good idea to build a new trail on the other side of the ridge. We built about a mile of new trail. It's very similar to heavy duty yard work. On one of our outings, a couple of hikers came up from I15. The Scouts got to see first hand the benefit of their hard work. It was a great experience.
I love the way you take us back not that long ago when traveling through the country still was an enterprise. Now we can be anywhere in a matter of hours. Obstacles have their charm hence the PCT. Happy hiking.
