I don't know how, but... now I am getting a lot of content from foreigners moving to Romania or visiting Romania. 🤣 Anyway... it is so nice to hear that you like living here and I hope you will stay for a long time and have amazing moments! Friends will come, but... just as everywhere... it will end up being more important which friends. It would be easier to meet people and get to know them and... them... you... if you would participate in different events - you could try joining various events as a volunteer or... make your own. 🙂🤗🙂 Saying "Hello!" to neighbors, even in big cities, and talking to them is something Romanians do, also. 🙂
My dear brothers, if you live in Western Europe and you want to live FREE (freedom) and escape the BS, come to Romania. Girls are different too and more feminine and friendly. Only came here 3 months ago and now I’m engaged with big connections I was a nobody in Paris and it was a African ghetto (unsafe), - I’m white. Safe here in Romania and made brothers here, invested in property and it’s cheap and reasonable. Life is basically reachable for you ❤❤❤ come out here for holiday and you’ll experience true safety and chill vibes
i am a romanian born and raised, living in canada for the last 20 years... majority of the 10 things if not all are true.. you are very beautiful, even by romanian standards which are high.. thank you for the positive view on everything, i'm glad you two like it there
"Government is slow" is an understatement 🤣🤣🤣. Best sentance for describing romanian beurocracy is "the online petitions need to be submitted at the counter on the second floor 😅.
Vlad Țepeș has never ruled Transylvania, meaning the land among / which passes through the forests. The thing you will not like in Romania is the loud music. The other things are alright.
That’s an interesting fact about Vlad. Thanks for sharing! Also, I have come to really enjoy the Romanian music! It always seems to be upbeat and lively!
Romania is a Christian country that respects Christian morality because this is the purpose of the Bible to educate humanity so that it does not remain animals. The aberrant ideologies that circulate in your country , here do not exist and are not accepted.
I did not speak Romanian before moving, but was able to learn while living there! Yes, Romanians speak English ☺️ In the big cities it is more likely and you’ll come across more people to chat to 💬
I’m from Transylvania and been living I the US for 20 years. Let’s NOT have a lot of people moving there. Let’s keep the country as simple as is, affordable and safe! Where people go, they destroy all the beauty.
I am so grateful I had the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful country. Beautiful land, people and culture! It’s such a blessing to be able to travel and I feel like I grew and learned so much from this experience. I will forever love Romania! ❤️
I'm from Romania, from Arad. So I'm from the heart of Transilvania. But why did you move to Romania? I don't understand. I'm Romanian and I've never heard of buying an apartment that's fully furnished. That must be something new. Usually that's not the case. Bram Stoker put Romania on the map with his story of Dracula. This Romanian ruler's name was Vlad Tepes sau Vlad Dracul also known as Vlad the Impaler. He used to impale his enemies so hence he has this name. Drac means devil or demon in Romanian. Actually you do have to watch your back in Romania, but esp. around gypsies. It's not a sensitive subject. It's a known subject by all Romanians. They may be dangerous or try to steal something from you. Begging and theievery is what they do. When I was a little girl, a gypsy tried to steal me. Luckily our neighbor caught this gypsy lady before she was able to take me away. Even now I think with terror at the thought that I was almost stolen by one. Whoever was babysitting us was not careful to keep us safe. By and large I say, stay clearly away from gypsies. Romanians and Gypsies (or as they call themselves now, Roma, I don't know why, this is a new name are not Europeans). They come from India and they go throughout Europe and beg and steal. Two totally different people groups. Romanians and Gypsies. Gypsies are very good at music. They just pick up an instrument and start to play it. They have that reputation, like blacks in America. They are with music. So you will see many of them in metro's in Western Europe begging for money. Interesting that you moved to Romania.
We moved back to the US in July of 2023 ☺️ The furnished apartments were soooo nice! I know the USA has some as well but it is very expensive and not common to find
#10 - Thank you That Dracula BS made people overlook Vlad's true history. And for many of us Romanians, Vlad has a special place of love and appreciation in our hearts. He is very respected.
For me as a romanian seeing Americans "stocking up" at the grocery store like there's no tomorrow it's funny and weird. We used to have that in comunism times because there was no food left in the store if you didn't stock up but now you can find anything you need anywhere, it's all the same products and you don't really need to "stock up" your fridge with stuff. Also food here doesn't last too much so stocking up on many items is not a good idea anyway.
This is such an interesting comment because in the US it’s so common to go to the grocery store once a week and buy everything you need in that one trip! After being in Romania, I don’t find it necessary to stock up anymore! It’s so easy and convenient to walk to the store when you need supplies ☺️
@@sierramarie Exactly. If you don't live somewhere in the rural area and you're in a city, even a small one, chances are you can find anything in shops near you, you can walk to the grocery store and get fresh produce, this is something people enjoy doing and it's not seen as a chore but rather something to give you a reason to go out, walk the city and enjoy the activity.
That is so exciting! Both have such beautiful qualities. We visited Czechia over Christmas 2 years ago! The people are so kind and the architecture is so incredible!!! I can definitely say the same about Cluj-Napoca, Romania. I can’t wait to see what you choose!
Americans when they think of Europe usually think of Western Europe, The east is its own thing, in some ways closer to the Americans, in that we are a bit wilder, more frontier-type people or the descendence of them, so the culture reflects that long time spent in small communities, an expectation of self-reliance and slight anarchistic tendencies. Partly why capitalism worked so well
If you are spending $880 a month on food in Romania, you are eating out often and going to the supermarkets instead of grocery stores and farmer's markets and you are probably buying mostly American and imported products.
Thanks for sharing. Best combo is to have U.S. level income, but live in Romania 😉. Beautiful country and people. My wife is Romanian and I look forward to spending at least part of the year there soon, but I'm blessed to have a very nice U.S. pension + 401K income. I hope you are enjoying a healthier and better overall quality of life there. ❤️
