No rapture. A resurrection at the end of the tribulation when the second coming of Jesus occurs. Revelation 19 is very clear when the second coming of Jesus occurs. Revelation 1:7 Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “EVERY EYE will see him, even those who pierced him"; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a LOUD command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Jesus second coming will be loud and a trumpet will sound, every eye will see him, both saved and unsaved. In Thessalonians Paul was assuring the people that if they died before Jesus came back the second time, that they would not miss him. Look at the context of the chapter 4. He wasn’t describing a rapture, he was talking about their resurrection upon Jesus return. He assured them that they would be the first to rise and then the rest would meet Jesus in the clouds . When we meet Jesus in the clouds, it means we rise up to meet him bc we are so excited to see him and to come back down here to earth for the 1000 reign. Clouds are still in the atmosphere of the earth. Clouds are not indicative of going to heaven out of the firmament. In order to understand what Paul was referring to in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 we must also look at Jewish traditions of kings going off to battle. When a king went off to battle, the people of the that kingdom would wait for their king to return, sometimes days, even months. But because they did not know the day or hour of the kings return, they had appointed certain men to keep watch for the king day and night. When the king was sited in the distance, they would blow a trumpet to let the people know that the king was approaching the city. This would excite the people so much they ran through the city gates to meet the king even before he got back into the city. They would welcome him and walk back I to the city with him. The crowd that Paul was speaking to that day, would have understood this concept of meeting their king even before he returned to their dwelling place inside the city since this was a practice they did with their earthly kings. When Jesus our King comes, Paul was telling them they would be so excited they would rise to meet Jesus in the air (the air is how He’s traveling) and return back to earth along side of Him. This teaching of a rapture will cause many to fall away from the faith because they were told Jesus was going to snatch them away. When they realize they will be here for the tribulation, they will believe the scriptures lied to them. It’s simply not so. The Bible never teaches a secret rapture where some folks will disappear. The scriptures are very clear that Jesus’ second and final return will be LOUD and that EVERY EYE will see him. That’s the opposite of a secret rapture. How could some people disappear and every eye see him? It’s impossible. This false teaching is going to send many souls to hell bc they will turn from God. We are living in the days of Noah. Only 8 people were found righteous out of everyone on earth. Less than 10 were found righteous when God destroyed Sodom. Today, because the church, has become stagnant and lukewarm, there are very few true members of the church. Not even enough for a secret rapture even if there was one. There is hardly a church here on earth right now. 99% of people who think and say they are Christian’s, are not, and these pastors who are preaching false doctrine will suffer in the tribulation period.
