I guess Fr. Seth means well when he says we will have fun but the Gospels are not fun at all. Neither are the Church teachings. Concession is not fun either. Same for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. St. Maria Goretti did not have fun when she was stabbed to death because she did not want to have sex because it was a sin and she would go to hell. The life of St. Rose of Lima was the opposite of fun.
8:30 Whoa...are you saying that the Gospel is at odds with Church teaching on social issues? Because if you are, then, the Church is being influenced not by the Holy Spirit, but some other spiritual or human forces not in keeping with the---duh--Gospel, which IS inspired by the Holy Spirit, by definition. If the magisterium is turning the Gospel on its head, then it cannot possibly be doing so under the influence the Holy Spirit, which begs a lot more serious questions about the authentic Church. Statements like you state in 8:30 are causing the Sensus Fidelis serious heartaches. C'mon, Father. You know a thing cannot both be and not be. If yes now means no or no now means yes, a serious violation of basic philosophy and logic is occurring. "Let your yes mean yes and your no mean no. Anything is from the evil one" (Mt 5:37). We are not to be "conformed to the spirit of the age, but be transformed by the renewal of our minds that we discern what is the will of God., what is good , pleasing, and perfect" -Rom 12:2. Just because the majority and the world--or even a heretical "Pope", or the schismatic German bishop's conference--are saying LGBT is good, and they should be in their disordered relationships too, and gays should be married and their marriages blessed by the Church, and those divorced without annulments and any one else of other Christian sects and other communities or politicians who place pro-abortion judges on benches or the Supreme Court or enact pro-abortion legislation can receive Holy Communion as long as they believe in Jesus in some way, or that the Catholic Church is being exclusive if we don't, does NOT mean we follow in that same "spirit". If this is your belief, Father, you are not to be followed, because if this is your belief, you are leading souls not to Heaven, but in the opposite sphere.
Thank you Father Jim! I love Divine Mercy Sunday! I have been praying the Chaplet and the Novena for God's Mercy in our world for an end to the pandemic and for those affected by it. God bless!!
