It's shocking the way those people with disabilities were treat. Treated like criminals & discriminated against. Totally shocking to see. Glad times have changed. They had every right to be able to enjoy the rides just the same as anyone else.
Hate the part where they are making a point they assaulted a woman doesn’t matter who was in the costume man or woman they still did it either way gender doesn’t come into it assault is assault
it being a young girl does make it worse tho they are much larger than her wheres a man can fight back most women have no chance in a fight against a man never mind 3. its a fact most men are stronger than most women so of course it is worse. what a weird thing to comment
Amanda Thompson hasn't changed by the looks of it, ordering someone to give her a cigarette now she moans about the passholders and the enthusiasts that film in the park who get the punters in because people watch their youtube channels and it gets people wanting to go to the parks
9:43 Disabled people destroying the kids fun we have an agreement they are gone and we are open everything back to normall now. JR was ruthless lol good guy in a different era.
@22.00 JR is conflating not liking other traders on his turf with benefits cheats. With next to no evidence. In episode 1 we saw how he wouldnt protect the public from a suspected bomb threat. because it would stop him making money. This doc really show how the Fairground mentality of make as much money from your punters as you can.1 As as young Brit. I have heard of the Thompsons through the media. Ussually they are portrayed as very chummy people with good business sense. The Thompsons here try to use their family name repeatedly to get their way with the local council and chase off potential competitors. Very eye opening. Great film making.
Is it really such a high pressure environment? I can believe it in part but the dcoumentary seemed somewhat contrived in places. Only watched two episdoes as yet so we'll see.
Yup, the stress of thousands of customers, possible ride break downs, b*mb threats (not so much noe as its all closed in) and staff illness. It is a high pressured job. X
5:14 another shot that shows the search lights on the outside of the big, one station, and the chaser lights again, would love to see them reinstate stuff like that again for the big ones 30th next year!🙏🙏🙏
I have mad respect and admiration for Geoffrey Thompson, the only thing I don’t like is his politics as I’m more of a left-wing man myself, but each to their own I guess.
14:26 a bit of trivia, that Waltzer outside the sandcastle is Taylors of Edinburgh, they have been going to my town for a Gala day and other areas around Scotland for many years, including of the time of this documentary!😊
Our useless brown envelope council went against there own rules ,of nothing on west of tram track then all of a sudden ,the little wedding chapel mainly a normal bar over there ,bent fkn council for sure .
She came on holiday to help her with her nerves. Yes, going on a high speed fairground ride is well known for its calming effects. Pull the other one, love!
favourite bit 11:55 when the Northerner lady boss says "bastards, get me a cigarette somebody" and the boss's assistant springs into action , hands her a cigarette and instantly lights it for her. like it was part of his job description.
survivors of the avalanche crash probably got free season tickets and a small bung. it's a fairly tame ride, but is very risky as the rollercoaster train is free running and not attacked to any tracks. if this happened in America everyone on that ride would be suing for millions. amazingly the avalanche or is it called bobsleigh ? is still there in 2o23 and operational. I've been going to this Northern ride park since the 1960s, and it's still a great experience. although I preferred it in the olden days 60s, 70s and 80s, even the 90s, when health and safety wasn't much of a concern, it made the rides that bit more adventurous.
Wtf is a northern ride park??? It’s called Blackpool Pleasure Beach. It’s a theme park / amusement park. And if you went and if you watched this documentary you’d have seen it’s called the Avalanche. And it’s very safe.
