Learn How To Play Competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! One Step At A Time
Hey Everyone!
I am Max! I make Yu-Gi-Oh! Content and are a Competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! Player. The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG card game is a fast paced and complex game that can be completely overwhelming to someone when they are first getting started. The content on my channel focuses on teaching new or casual players on how to ease their way in to the modern competitive scene in a step by step process.
Even as a Competitive Player, I also love the anime and will have more casual content too. One of these are character duels, which are a reimagined way of experiencing the Yu-Gi-Oh! duels from the show that more encapsulates how the card game is played! I hope enjoy the content.
Ereditare has the same problem with Creation, all the in-archetype s/t searches are Selectrice, Scelta and Dimonno copying Scelta, and they should search for actually important cards like Invitare, Versare, Disarmonia and Followed Rhythm, so you can only hard draw this card or pray one of the important cards is in your starting hand already
@@Elystal that makes sense it’s only the search if you have what you need already. I agree with the sentiment that it’s probably more viable for going first
I'm not a good enough player to really have any takes on ygo at all but I'd still like to share my opinion that the support at least in my eyes won't really change anything I tested the deck when it didn't have any support and it was super consistent already and this feels a little forced to me. Sure they are good but I don't think it was all that necessary
Always feel free to share your thoughts it doesn't matter how good you are or not. I think the synchro is better then the main deck one since it gives you a way to search emblema oath or salvation for consistency or interruption. But I do agree that I don't think this does a ton for the deck. The playstyle is still the same with just more options which is nice. The second wave of support was really helpful. Third was okay since there is another tuner. But I think this wave mostly makes the engine more splashable now
@@Locskii nice! I have been planning to try it out just haven’t had time yet to dive into it. I love when a deck I want to play physically is in Master Duel. I feel more like actually testing out the deck more
@@dakotastein9499 I could see it being fine if you remove the once per turn. The only thing I could think of for the once per turn with this is that if you draw two the first one negates a special effect. The second one negates and destroys a special effect because the first one is now in the grave. But that is a minor issue still
I think the card will be good especially in decks that can play it. But it also can cut you off from being used with other common light hand traps like nibiru and effect veiler. Realizing that due to someone pointing that out in the comments made me feel less worried about this type of card, especially since those are part of the 12-15 that most people use
I agree the monster negate synchro and the tuners are awesome! I like that the cards still seem to be 2 card combo focused still. I would like to move a way game design wise from insane 1 card combos like snake-eye. But I worry that depending on the format that the deck might limited space for tech cards. I think in a board breaker format that will probably work, but I am not sure in a hand trap format that the deck has the space for the required amount
I sort of retract my previous statement, this will be crazy in the new M'A'LICE archetype since the deck basically wants you activating their traps to special their monsters.
I haven't ready through the malice archetype. I am working my way to that release. Excited to check it out! It sounds like this could be good against them too if they are using an effect to special summon them.
oh wow new handtrap that is perfect for yubel and snake-eyes, wowwww (ig lab'll use it too but ye) such funnnn decks will see play with this shouldve locked FIRE and DARK ngl
@@ZappyKat-X3 yea I am suprise dark wasn’t part of the lock. My guess is that there might be other versions that lock different attributes. But solemn warning as a hand trap that doesn’t lock dark does seem crazy. Fire also has a lot of hype to it after the year of fire support. I think of of the issues of this as a hand trap is that if you use it as a hand trap you are locked out of using other hand traps like effect veiler, nibiru, droll the new mulcharmy fuwalos. I think that is a big issue for very hand trap heavy decks
I totally agree. One thing I didn't think of until it was pointed out in that comments was that as a hand trap it cut off other hand traps like Nibiru which is really good in Labrynth, but with Labrynth being able to set it. I think it is still a consideration
@@angeldust9879 It’s generically solid so any deck can run it that doesn’t get attribute locked. But in Labrynth it’s a normal trap solemn warning that can be searched or use as a hand trap and all the main deck monsters are dark. Since the deck runs lots of trap cards the destruction effect is more likely to happen. I think it’s at least a consideration
Yeah, I agree with you. The card seems like a pretty solid hand trap trap (lol). I've never played labyrinth before, but I may now. I don't purchase cards cuz 1, i can't afford them, and 2, I don't go to events and stuff, so I only play online. I'm pretty excited to see more of these hand trap traps in the future. To make traps more playable. Overall, nice overview of the card, man.
@@joshwise9170 Thank you! I totally get not buying the physical cards its pricey and unless you are playing in events at least a locals every week it's not really worth it. I usually like playing Master Duel since I can get the cards without spending money and play decks like Snake-Eye or Yubel. Or if I have some extra money I go for cheaper rogue tier 2 decks, if I want to compete physically.
@MaxxCTCG Yeah. I bought cards in the past (well my mom bought them for me). It was when dinos were still big, then she bought me the dragunity deck I wanted. Never finished it but I really just enjoyed just doing the combos over and over again by myself. All that to say, I would love to buy decks in the future, just got myself and not to get like the tier 1 or 0 decks. Just for myself as a hobby. It's pretty fun. I honestly might get 3 of the dark world structure decks when it comes out too.
@@joshwise9170 That is really nice of her and Dino was a crazy Structure Deck when it came out. I also played Dragunity and really enjoyed doing combo lines with that deck too. The Dark World Structure Deck is out and you might be able to get it cheaper at a local card shop if you have some near you. I know my local card shop was selling them cheaper and not charging tax if you buy in cash. You can make a solid combo version with just some knightmares + a few cheap extra deck cards so you can link climb and break boards going second. You can also go with a control trap version with skill drain and more of the Dark World Trap Cards. You can also check out Purrely, Tenpai Dragon or Gimmick Puppet for cheaper competitive cores to work on building up. A lot of the price when it comes to these cores is the staple cards like hand traps and if you already own them or not
I get that targeting destruction is not the best form of removal. But I think you are overlooking that we have not had a generic card like this in the game yet. One of the big issue's with dealing with floodgate or backrow decks is that you have to run backrow removal cards and they are good in every match up. This is a card that can get rid of floodgates, but also be used against monsters. Plus its a quickplay spell so you can use it first or second.
@@MaxxCTCG Thats a fair point. I believe it can be useful if ponix ever gets ashed/impermed. Maybe a 1 of as a safe bet. But it is pretty generic so it can be splashed in any deck that needs an out for backrow removal and such
@@odaynehill2647 I think with Sky Burn it might not be needed, but your right that it's great in decks for getting rid of backrow. Plus, it can get rid of monsters in cases where there isn't backrow to hit. But Sky Burn and this card won't stop ash since its not targeting ponix. But it works on effect veiler and imperm
@@feeltheflow5173 good callouts! I was thinking that with the new support drytron is getting this could be good if they are semi relevant in the meta. And the new union support for the xyz retrain could get hit by this too
these are the types of videos I love seeing going into a fresh format. I always like helping my friends prep for regionals and YCS. And knowing combos for decks im not familiar with is a must. And since its going to be a new format at nats, this is perfect
I am glad you like the video and found it helpful! Learning new combos and interactions is a must if you want to perform well at the beginning of a format. Completely agree
Defintly plan to get 3 of him, and 3 battleguarde echoes and 3 dai for my war rock deck. MeteoRagon, and Bashileos will be allot easier to spam out since pyrite knight summons a warriror during the battle phase any level, and unlike war rock mountain the monster he summons wont have to be a war rock. thanks to double dai now I can summon bashileos out whos a level 8 warriror then be granted access to meteoragon, and Skyler straight from deck since thier only level 6, and 7.
I can see where your concern is coming from, but I don’t think it will be a common problem. I don’t see deck running this generically just to pull off otks because this card is slow going first and loses you advantage for a slow extra draw with morganite. Going second it doesn’t affect your opponent’s strategy or really progress yours actively. It’s assuming you can play through your opponents board where you can actually get to access code or Borrelsword Dragon. It was bought up in the community tab that this could be good in dinomorphia. I could see that double attack double damage being good in that deck since it’s a slower deck that benefits from an increase in tempo in a longer drawn out duel.
@@victorleppas3067 I wasn’t thinking about thrust. With thrust I think there is more of a chance to use it as a otk card going second since you just side 1 but I still don’t think it will be a meta problem we will be complaining about. But that does make it significantly easier to use. I could be wrong so we will have to wait and see
Unfortunately I think this engine will be expensive I can see it being $200. I would check presale on sites like gamers choice for U.S. or Tier Zero for Europe. Sometimes the presales are good prices sometimes it drops. But if you want the cards I would check out those sellers to see if the prices seem fair to you. I would stir away from TCG Player for presales
