Installation instructions for all alarms need to be followed precisely. The instructions show a ceiling-mounted alarm to be placed 4 inches minimum from the nearest vertical wall. The alarm in this video is less than half that, and is thus in a 'dead air space'. Its sensitivity and effectiveness are compromised.

I want to use it manually.... Intentionally with NO WiFI. The thermostat is shit, and the government is taking over control of the setting. Yes, really. Here in TX, you will get a nasty surprise when you check your thermostat and find that the setting is NOT at all what you set it at.

The ad version will drain the battery quicker than the non ad version, due to the ad feature which runs on the device all the time. So unless you use the trick to remove the ads permanently, go for the non ad version.

Thank you for the video. How do you get the set-up/menu to work. Sometimes it lets me do it, some other times it tells me to insert the disk. Then, after inserting the disk, it tells me that the disk prevents me to operate the set-up. catch 22? Also who do you turn captions on . I have disks that they say they have "closed captioning" - and they do when I put them into my computer. But when i try to player them on this DVD player they don't seem to have them anymore. Any help would be great. Thank you.
