Hi. My name is Mike Chipperini (Chipper) and this channel is dedicated to the Adventures of the RV Chipper’s Island. These adventures take place predominately in my 2023 Winnebago Travato 59K. I'm a retired soldier of 20 years and recently retired after 21 years as a Gloucester Firefighter. The 59K is my retirement gift to me where I will explore America, along with other adventures, and pass on knowledge and my Travato exploits to my channel subscribers.
as someone who is interested in both the coachmen rb and the travato 59k, this was the best video ive seen on the travato so i'd like to thank you. you mentioned near the end that travato has more storage than the coachmen "underneath". are you referring to under the twin bed? i have not seen any videos showing whats under the coachmen bed. thanks again for your video, very appreciated
We did that trip from Virginia in 2021. It was my bucket list as well. We did the badlands, Yellowstone, grand Tetons, Grand Canyon, Sedona, the Mighty Five and by accident caught the Albuquerque Ballon fest. Your going to have a great time! We are headed up your way next week to Taunton, the Cape, Portland, the New Hampshire and Vermont. Safe travels to you and your friend!
Put in Bay is awesome! I go every year. Often it’s very busy but if you rent a golf cart you can drive on the outskirts of the island and enjoy wine, caves and a butterfly house. It’s a great place for being so small!
Thank you for doing such an informative review. I have a friend who has listed her 2023 Travato 59k with 2100 miles on it asking $120k, but now she came to me and said she is willing to sell it to me for $100k. In your opinion, is this a great deal? Most listings I see start around $119K. It's practically new. Thanks.
@@bella3007186 Thank you for watching. I’m no expert but I think that might be a decent deal. Look up the 59k’s on RV Trader and see what their prices are. I suspect that with year and low mileage, 100k is ballpark. Good luck and all the best!
Hi Mike, thank you for this video. I am having trouble with a strong sulfur odor at the kitchen sink. I am suspecting the under sink filter. Could that be the problem rather than the whole tank? Also, does anything special need to be done for the water heater?
Thanks for the lesson in Civil War battles, Mike. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge about Gettysburg with us. If you haven't already, go visit Manassas National Battlefield Park. I don't know why but I got the chills standing there overlooking the battlefield. There was no wind, no birds chirping, no noise of any kind. Just silence. It was very eery and I felt the ghosts of fallen soldiers. Never had that happen to me before nor after that one experience. Keep on keepin' on!
Thank you for showing the campground. My family spent 2 weeks there every year while we were growing up.Had a seasonal site for a couple years also. It has changed alot since then. Thank you again.
Thank you for watching. Yes we do. It’s risky but so far it’s been good. Many people I know go the day before. I tend to try to get the first flight from Boston. Which I got the 6:30 this year. However, Jet Blue changed it to 10:30. Still plenty of time. Hope this helps. All the best!
That crossing the Missouri River gave me chills. I miss my home state with each passing day. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can return to sw Missouri next summer & get my legacy ranch started.
It's been 34 yrs since I left St Louis. Next year will be 50 years since I was last in Augsburg. I want my daughter & my grandsons to go there with me so I can show them where I lived & all that Augsburg & Bavaria has to offer.@@ChippersIslandAdventures
Hi, I have a 2024 59K Travato and had the water fill moved to the outside of the Van. on the right rear side. I was told I had to leave it on dry camping. Is there anything different to do since when flushing the tank. By the way my fresh water at the sink has an oder.😝
Thank you for watching. Dry camping is for when you are not connected to a water source. On this setting you would engage the pump when you need water. If connected, set panel to City Water. As for the odor, try letting the water run a bit to rinse the piping. When sanitizing, be sure to flow water thru each device. Hope this helps. All the best!
I am good, thanks. Just been very busy lately! Waiting for the kids to get back in school and then I start to travel around again. 😁 @@ChippersIslandAdventures
Thank you for watching. On each docking we were at a port. On St. Croix, the weather was sketchy, it did rain, so we toured the island. The cruise was great. All the best!
Nice remember... I grow up in Stadtbergen and live with the americas in neighborhood... Now since 2000 in live in Steppach close to the bismarkturm Hill, yesterday i visited the Sheridan Park and spoke with an guy who married a german woman and He moved to Augsburg.... Where Do you live in the states?
Great videos. Enjoying the content. Where did you book the tour you went on? We are going in November and do not have any activity planned for St Croix yet.
Thank you for watching. We don’t really “book” tours. We basically get out of the market area and see what’s available. Kinda a go with the flow. All the islands independent tours. Just be sure that they go to where you’d like to go like the Cruxen Rum distillery. Hope this helps. All the best!
@@krystalrey87 Thank you for watching. Sadly I do not. Once off the ship and thru the shops there are plenty of tours. Just ask to make sure the tour goes to where you want to go. Good luck and all the best!
Thank you for watching. The folks at Winnebago were nothing short of great. Friendly. Courteous. Professional. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. All the best!
Road & area usually called "the Kanc" Most of the road follows the old logging RR's. Also the WMNF is a forest, not a park. Huge difference how they operate. Thanks for the tour. LFOD !
Thank you for watching. The radon is preventing possible freezing as the Travato leans toward an all season vehicle. Personally I’ve had no issues with this. All the best!
@@CathyKliewer-y3b thank you for watching. It has a set on the drivers side but I’d be hesitant to use for a child seat as it is seated sideways rather than forward.
