I have met Qamar Rahman Apa in New York City in 2023, during the Annual Convention of our Federation of AMU Alumni Associations of North America, hosted by the New York Aligs. She is a brilliant and beautiful person, paternal aunt of my very good friend and classmate Dr Asiya Rehman Rao. Knew her daughter Dr Farah, also, who's now in the US. My father Syed Anwar Shah had do his Engineering Degree from AMU, 1950 graduate. Late Prof Dr Bahauddin, (PVC during my time, and later VC of AMU, was my father's roommate and classmate.). We have more Alig relatives from 1920s to now. We are from Assam. An aunt Syeda Anwara Taimur, the first and the only lady Chief Minister of Assam, was an Alig, too. My brother-in-law Retd Group Captain, Engineer Shahab Ali Khan was the Cricket Captain of AMU Cricket Club, his father Dr Iftikhar Ali Khan Sahab was Captain of the Winning Hockey Team of All India University Tournament. Dr Zakir Hussein Sahab was the VC during my father's time. Our most beautiful days were spent there in AMU, Abdullah Hall.
