Can any aerobic exercise work? I sustained a severe traumatic brain injury. Learning how to work. Nowhere near running yet. Walking is a challenge. Great video. Keep them coming. Blessings,
By the way, walking is as good as running. Just some kind of activity that is sustained aerobics. I was in an accident and in a COMA several weeks. Upon recovery I was told the best thing I could do is walk walk walk and walk some more.
Thank you for breaking down, in understandable terms, the importantance of exercise via Myokines. So important for folks to know the mechanism that make such positive changes throughout the body. It makes it real. Would like to see you do the others IL-15, Irisin etc. As a Senior Fitness Traniner/Specialist this info really helps...
Dear Maria, your VO2 explanation is so concise and elegant. Listened to Attia go on for for hours, and did not get much. And they we say women bubble too much hahaha.
A couple questions: When I eat more carbohydrate than I use immediately, isn't it stored not as fat, but as glycogen? What happens when I eat more fat than my body can use as fuel? Is some of that fat stored in my body, and is any deposited in the wrong places, such as inside the arterial walls, as visceral fat in the abdomen, or in organs such as liver, muscle, heart, and pancreas? Which is most easily converted to or deposited as body fat--carbohydrate excess or fat excess?
The summary is runners have better brains. If you don't run. Then, keep learning difficult information and do difficult mental tasks, thinking, research, etc.
Doctor im really interested in your work i been going through my life with really high cortisol levels and I think my hippocampus has shrunk because my memory loss is horrible but I would like to get my masters on this subject because its so interesting for me and wish you would supervise me because i love your work
Thank you for posting this very interesting video. You refer to one particular form of aerobic exercise - running - in this and previous videos. Does any form of 'aerobic' exercise (that which pushes the HR into the 'aerobic zone' ( == 70% - 80% of HR-max)) have the same effect (e.g. 'aerobic' levels of cycling, rowing, etc.) ?
Pus filled scabs don't form on my skin without some kind of injury, burn, abrasion, or infection. LDL doesn't cause heart disease. Injury causes heart disease. LDL is part of the damage repair.
