Don't use speed brake to increase your descend rate all the time...naff and noisy. . Just increase your speed by speed intervention or select Flight Level Change and speed up ....monitoring your path deviation +- 400 ft symbol.
What pathetic, dangerous instructions. .. Use of V/S mode comes with a HEALTH WARNING... There is NO speed control in V/S mode....BEWARE. Could be critical on a heavy aircraft at high altitude... You might approach the stall if distracting or not monitoring. Don't listen to this potentially DANGEROUS rubbish...
This answered my question when I heard a United captain making an 'airspeed intervention' on the climbout out of ORD in December of '21. Mystery finally solved, and good times looking back
I've been trying to juggle the numbers every which way but I can't find how you get the 175 and 155 intercept course numbers...... would you pls explain..
They are the reciprocal of the assigned courses. For example, if you are flying inbound to a VOR on the 020 radial, your course to the VOR is going to be 200
@@Kl408pda Quick math to figure the reciprocal is "+/-2" and "+/-2" leaving the third number the same. In the case of the above 355... 3-2=1; 5+2=7; third number (5) stays the same: therefore 175 For 335..... 3-2=1; 3-2=1 and the 5 stays the same.
