hy claire love your content so much arghh❤you inspire me so much that I wish I get as good at uni as you❤. I'm about to do my first year in BSc pure mathematics and chemistry, so I want to know if you did pure or applied math?
I totally agree with most of your tips, I would just say that using other resources than your lecture notes is a bit of a double edged sword. Because if you have to proof a theorem in the exam and you use another theorem that was from that other resource you might not get full or any points on your proof. Speaking from experience here😅
Miss please help me😢, i need help, I know someone who working there, he promised to marry me but now he disappeared I need information from people who work there, i just wanna know what happened with him, because he told me that he had cancer Please help me
A good tip most people don’t do is stay up to date with the work. I used to miss every lecture in the semester and learn everything a week before the exams. Learning and cramming everything last minute is completely doable. I’ve done this for my first 2 years. But staying up to date allows you to get practice which really makes the exam soo much easier.
I’m also a math student, these are exactly the tips that I conclude during my math studying. Office hour is really important, but I also didn’t got to any office hour for the first year lol. Luckily that I realized its importance in the second year. But for my algebra class this year it neither has typed lectures notes nor lecture recording which is so bad!!
Hello, I saw some of your clips and you are talking about studying mathematics. I study mathematics. I have some problems in the subjects such as Topology and number theory. Can you help me?
The video is actually so great and kind of a very true representation of how the work's like. I just started a fortnight back at a consulting firm and can definitely relate to every part of this video. Keep up the great work Claire!
genuine question, hopefully you reply... how do you find the workload? I want to go to exeter but I know that if I go then I will NEED a job to support myself. is a part time job manageable with the load? FYI the specific course I want to do is maths and computer science MSci
hopefully you still reply. So I currently live near liverpool and was thinking of applying to Exeter uni for Mathematics and Computer Science. Would you recomend the uni? I tend to focus on cost of living/accommodation so was wondering what you thoughts were on the en-suite self catered rooms (any shops nearby streatham? and how are the local libraries/hang-out areas i.e. pubs) and how did you think the structure of your course was? is it all planned out properly and good staff?
hi im thinking of coming to study at Exeter uni next year, what is it like? are people really friendly and welcoming to international students there? im worried about making friends as I can be quite shy, and I also don't like clubbing - would you say there are things to do during freshers week that don't involve drinking ? I worry that i'll be only one in halls to not go out every night clubbing! would greatly appreciate any advice you can give on uni life at Exeter !
Thanks for this video Claire! It was very interesting to see how your day to day work life is like. I have a question, do you think your maths degree really prepared you for the role? If so, how much of the things did you learn at university were you able to apply to your job?
Hi! Yes, some directly applies like optimisation, stats, machine learning, and I used Python in my degree. Also, like with most jobs transferable skills from a degree are important too! Like problem-solving and articulating complex ideas (and maybe a bit of stack overflow…)
Hi Claire. I'm a mathematics student going into my final year of an integrated masters degree. I was wondering if you had any advice for managing my time and study tips for this final year? I have never written a dissertation (or any long piece of writing really) so I don't know what to expect from the dissertation module. And I have heard that the masters year is much more difficult than previous years so I was hoping that you could give me some tips or direct me to a video of yours that might help? Love your videos and thanks in advance :)
Thank you Claire for the great tips. I believe and can relate to all those tips. I have been struggling especially with complex analysis and such stuff.
Hi Claire, I found your video really helpful. I am currently at Exeter as you were and am trying to enter the consulting industry (ideally at a big four firm!), I was wondering if you had any recommendations for online resources to help with this? Thanks!
hello Claire, I am a university student who just finished the freshman year, I got an excellent grade in physics but my math is not good. Thanks for your advice, I'll try to improve myself.
I am mom returned college with a little one one while working part time. I am phonetically on writing everything need to be done in my composition notebook BUJO in vertical weekly format and each subject get it’s own blocks. I need to check off boxes to keep track of what has been done. In addition details for each assessment. Composition notebook is light to hold one for scheduled one for random notes and one for performant reference s.
