This was the best "Get Started' Tutorial - its amazing how seeing results within minutes and feeling like you are using the tools make you want to keep learning more.
Absolutely amazing tutorial. Simple and to the point. You have a gift. I am in need of assistance. I want to build a 2 story shop/office space inside a metal building. I have a 30x60x18 metal building and want to build a 30x20x18 shop/office inside. Would you be available for hire?
thanks! after being discouraged by advanced framing videos, this one is exactly what I needed. Now I can start my framing and learn on the way! you're excellent teacher.
If you scale up a project, will it update all the sizes? For example, if I had a planter box and wanted to change the size and create a separate set of plans with it. Is that possible?
If I build my project in the free version and then get the pro version free trial, will I be able to print the cutlist from the projects I have already made?
I already designed this before making this video. But, what I did originally was make the rafters at the desired pitch first, then cut them off where they would meet with the ridge board. Then I filled in the studs underneath the ridge board. That’s what I love about SketchUp, you can figure out the measurements as you go. Hope this made sense and answered your question.
Thanks! I am not very good at following tutorials for sketchup as they always seem to go to fast, I've always walked away from it for years. Best tutorial by a country mile, got it first time, this was brilliant, thank you so so much
I haven’t found a good way to save it. I’m currently importing the texture for each face. I’ll look more into this and make another video if I find something useful.
As with the other Web Tutorials for Sketchup, this is also an excellent one. The content & steps are recommended for framing contractors to rapidly and accurately create a well organized cut list. When coupled with the associated tutorial for designing this shed, it represents a powerful and efficient approach to design-build projects. Thank you for putting this together.
Just like the framing walls tutorial, this one is equally excellent. You might consider operating a Sketchup training program, as these are top notch. Thanks again.
Very well done, easy to comprehend, all 100% of it. And I agree with @ndamico, that this is the best/useful tutorial I've seen on Sketchup. And believe me, I've watched a bunch. Now subscribed and will look for more of your work. Thanks for taking the time to record this!
