Good morning, I play airsoft and as you know we use radios for communication between the various teams even if we obviously don't need professional devices. Baofengs are currently very popular and I'm satisfied with them, but I don't like the Kenwood connector because even though they use military-type PTTs, they often get ruined. I would like to try a Motorola type system that attaches with screws, but the prices are too high for me. They told me that Hytera uses the same standard, but I'm totally ignorant. Can you recommend a model that has this type of PTT connection, that doesn't cost a fortune and that can be used with the radios we use in this sport (baofeng and midland)? Thanks in advance
Thank you for your comment. The R7 is programmed through CPS2 software and the HP is programmed through Hytera H-series downloadable software. The rear mic is not a USB charging port, unfortunately.
I got both radio. The cp200d are much better when you are outside & you need to communicate from far distance. I active a repeater from 34St Penn Station to Castle hill , BX NY.😉
When doing the test its sounded like you where compairing the 446 analogue radio to the R7 running Dmr digital. If so then there is no comparison two different audio formats. Also why would you test against a radio at 500mw to 5watt radio doesnt make sense. ?
Thanks for putting both of the best DMR Radios in my oppinion together in a Video. To be honest this time design vise i like the hytera more because its more slim and modern style like s23 ultra in the corners.
The "H" series I guess doesn't utilize technology "stolen" from Motorola? Why on earth would you want to purchase a radio from a Foreign owned company that has been convicted of stealing technology from an American company?
Hello m'y name is Hadrien rihn you go to shopping achat 6 radio professionnel or 6 radio cellphone or 6 radio cellphone portable or 6 smartphone walkie talkie or 6 radio runbo h1 or k1 or walkie talkie or radio or Cibi or orders moyen for communication and télécommunications and pistolets laser game and go to poste office Sand colis Sand rihn 7 chemin de paoulou 65140 Lacassagne France or rihn Hadrien 55 rue de Toul 54200 choloy mennilot France.
OMG I'm sorry but both radio's are completely useless, my old Motorola GP340's cover upto 2 miles in built up areas and a lot further in open terrain, anyone who just needs short range communications should purchase PMR446 and save your money, thanks for doing the range test, excellent video
Ideally, you'd want to leave an designated empty channel for longer conversations too. :) Not during fires of course, but it offloads longer calls to not keep bothering everyone in the department.
Hi Jakob, we are planning on testing the audio on the device ourselves in an upcoming video so keep checking the channel for that! We can also confirm that the two-pin connector is a generic M2 😊 Any other questions, please let us know! - Niamh
As previously answered in the comments we decided to remove the antenna for the purpose of the video as the camera was having difficulty focusing on the LED with the antenna in the way. Although it is possible for radios to transmit small distances without antennas on, we don't recommend trying this as it can damage the radio.
Still a rather expensive device, for a particular set of circumstances. The tech will shift to lower-priced devices eventually I guess and be more broadly available
