Hello "Roanoke Virginia Living" I saw that in your channel have some problems. For these problems your channel is not much growing. Not getting much engagement. If you can solve these problems, Your channel will get more engagement. If you can give me permission I can tell to you about these problems. Can I tell here or email? Okay?
Retired here two years ago, from five hours north. I cannot think of anything important that you missed or misstated, pro or con. Doing a visit beforehand is a must, I think, because for my spouse and I, we found the area to be actually a little better or a little worse to our expectations in very minor ways. We often run into people who moved here from other areas , and we haven't met anyone who regretted their decision.
Happy to live in Virginia,, but I was born and raised in another Commonwealth: Pennsylvania. Around the time Virginia's slogan was created, Pennsylvania was using "You've got a friend in Pennsylvania", which I felt was a little less, well. personal. I have come to believe that Virginia is for lovers of many things beyond the romance angle: natural beauty, freedom, history, neighbors and friends. (Pennsylvania has been changing slogans, and the latest one again fits on a license plate: Let Freedom Ring)
You Guys Are Great. Still Have Family There. Very Familiar. Honest ,True Take On This Area. (I'm an old, grumpy man who always finds something to gripe about) If You Like Bicycles,Bike Lanes,Coffee Shops and Being A Hipster...This Place Is For You.
The skatepark shown is from Roanoke TEXAS. Not Roanoke, VA. Extremely misleading as the wasena park (which no longer exists) hasn't been decent since the 90s.
We moved here in 2000 and picked a place in Cave Spring arear due to the schools, I see someone called out Hunting Hill which is nice but way over price for what you get as this place is more of a status than anything else. I live foot of Bent Mountain on 4 acres and a 2800 sqft ranch style home for less than 200k at the time. So you can find bang for your bucks if you don't get in a hurry and take your time. We rented an apartment until we found our place and yes you will pay more month to month but money well spent, only rent for 3 months before buying a house.
Even your cons make me wanna move. Think ill have to make it happen!! Arizona offers that dry 116 heat and a 80° christmas. Well Im dreaming of a white Christmas!! We also choose the wilderness over packed beaches. Thank you for video.
Thank you for sharing I have just started looking to move to the state. I do not know the county I am going to take a road trip from the current state I own a home in to my retirement home. I Like this one 419 Loyalist Dr, Ruther Glen, VA 22546.
That’s a beautiful home in Ruther Glen. We have agent partners in that area if you decide that is an area of interest for you. If you’d like to know more about the Roanoke area, please keep watching our videos, and definitely use the link in the description to schedule a call with us so we can help you get the intel you need about Virginia! We love it here
When we moved here, we brought our bicycles. Cardinal had both the bicycle stands we needed for our smaller storage area and a selection of bicycle pumps to replace our failing one. Bonus: they are very near Scratch Biscuit if you are looking for a different sort of early meal.
We're heading up Monday for a couple night stay taking the grandkids up I always watch their videos to get an itinerary for things to do. Thank you guys as always
Congrats and welcome to @GRelayer! We moved here 18 months ago, from Jefferson County, WV. Winkster (as a friend of ours from there called it) was a shopping mecca for us. About the only thing we miss here, though, is Costco and what we felt were a better selection of supermarkets.
Been watching you for 2 years now.. Its almost time... 3 more months and were moving to Roanoke area. Need rental first for a few months while looking at properties... but yay soon...
Yahoooo - keep us in the loop. It'd be great to jump on a zoom in the next month or so so we can help you make the transition here as smooth as possible.
When you've got time and before you make any move...we'd highly recommend you jump on a call or a zoom with a seasoned real estate agent to discuss all of the great questions you've posted (and probably some percolating still in your head). Our zoom link can be found in the description of our videos, if you'd like to chat with us.
I visited Roanoke on several occasions. I like the area. One of the big pros for me or anybody that likes natural/organic food and products is that Roanoke has several natural food stores/coops. There are also several farm-to-table restaurants too. And it has a lot of nature, trees, trails etc a well.
I work a blue-collar job so that area might be good for me. It seems I found out in my life that blue-collar jobs pay less in more white-collar areas and more in predominately blue-collar areas.
