Your wife has such touchy feelings over her songbirds....ouch! I gotta say, if I was the one putting up with her, I'd be ALL on her about that hawk! I'll tell her right now. Here's the thing, if there's no birds, there's no hawks. Without hawks, the weak birds would eventually starve. What's better, a starving bird that's dying a slow-painful death, or a hawk slamming against a bird with its talons, killing it in just mere seconds? Pick your choice! Cooper's hawks are known to kill pigeons and crows as well. However, crows are too crafty to get caught by a Cooper's hawk, so that's a very rare bird for them to catch.
