Amazing production, lol, only sometimes the tempos are really too fast and the singers cannot handle that in time, which adds to the comedy but ruins the beauty of harmony and musical structure. I really enjoyed the production. Thank you!
Amazing how you repeat the touristic superficialities for this masterpiece. The French were simply trying to copy what they understood of the Roman architectural heritage, earlier in Tuileries and then at Versailles, all the way down to the Roman triumphal arches in the courtyard of their palaces, in the middle of the city--everywhere. Napolean (himself born Roman/Italian) carried all the Roman goodies he could get his hands on, to Paris. From columns holding ceilings while leaning against the side walls to pilasters, to grand staircase, to giant yards, lakes, domes, roofings, high corridors and windows... all copied from the Romans (except indoor plumbing that French never figured how to make). All of this are found at Casreta, and they are Roman, whether directly or circuitously.
Attending Elmhurst College with Dave I grew to love opera through his eyes. We performed together in the college’s 1st opera, “The Marriage of Figaro.” I’m sure he had something to do with that. All my best to you, Dave. Arlene Buric Klein.
As far as building codes go, these structures have been around a long time, and be protected, but don’t do ugly white outs (painting everywhere white, love the warm golden and various colors hints and deep tones, Just proud of it’s beauty that many people contributed to.
Thank you for your beautiful videos, and taking time going through the tour frame by frame as there’s a lot to take in,as loving art and the challenging designs that are what elements I crave in art, but in good taste. It suits my pallet
