Plastics are easily recycled into aggregates for concrete, though, if properly pelletized.

Nuclear energy is great in the right context: it's clean, relatively safe and takes very little room for the amount of power provided! That said, we must also take into account the fierce competition nuclear's been facing from solar, wind and batteries, all of which have dramatically come down in cost over the years due to a positive feedback, revolving around increased adoption and production. Can mini nukes replicate that feat? My guess: perhaps in China, to some extent.
@greennewperspective

You’re right about nuclear energy's potential. Mini nuclear reactors could become more popular and cost-effective, similar to how solar and wind have evolved. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and watching our podcast. <3

I am surprised so few have commented on this. The founders have presented an incredible product plan from rationale to method of execution. On downtown metro activities, they mention working there primarily. Some of us work from the outside in. We use an F150 SuperCrew to go to Boston or DC and then “have fun” getting around. As I type this, said vehicle is at Logan, awaiting our return from KY. It was a pain in the ass to park it without it sticking out & it has the turning radius of the Bismarck. My plan with the Telo is to add it to our collection of vehicles and then let it find its natural place among them. For example, can it replace the F150 and the Jeep Wrangler? It should be able to. On price, I agree $50K is totally reasonable for what it should be able to do. On 350 miles range/500 hp, I am absolutely all about that. Maybe I won’t need my Mustang either! Again, this effort and plan is far more important, in my opinion, than these few comments suggest.

Great discussion. It's nice to see another small nuclear fission company, probability with a great design that works fantastically on paper and in simulations, hoping to actually build a test reactor. Why are their so many companies in this space with so many brilliant but competing designs? They are all stuck at the same step. Brilliant designs on paper, no actual real world data from a prototype machine. Why is it so hard for them to get to the next step. Maybe it is because, in the real world, they need billions of dollars of investment and government approval. Also approval from the IAEA. So far only a handful of companies have been given this golden ticket. US 2, UK 1, Russia 1, China 1. These choices are always political not based on technical merit. They have all resulted projects which turn out to be more expensive and take longer than promised. It will be a miracle if a test machine is built before 2030. The economies of scale needed for this design to produce energy at an affordable price will require at least 10s of machines, probably more. So for the next few decades they will be burning through investor capital making tweaking the design and running more simulations, never getting beyond this step. I hope your guests' enthusiasm is enough. And then after decades of wasted time and money their design will end up in the pile with all the other designs that never saw the light of day. Good luck.

You’ve nailed the challenges in getting nuclear designs from paper to reality. The need for massive investment, government, and IAEA approval is a huge hurdle. Political factors often play a role too. It's a tough road, and only a few get the chance to move forward. Hopefully, with more focus and support, we’ll see progress sooner. Thanks for your thoughtful comment!
