This is the right tempo I feel. Most pianists play this far too fast.

Is there more to the ad shown at the top? It’s an ad for Liebig’s Meat Extract, and at the bottom, it says “Wagner as student, a lesson with Cantor Weinlig, at Leipzig, 1831.” Cantor Weinlig was the music director at the Thomaskirche, or St. Thomas’es Church, meaning he had J.S. Bach’s former job, and he gave the young Wagner the little formal instruction he ever had.

There's so much pain and anguish that goes into this movement of the symphony. What horrors did Tchaikovsky go through to lead him to write this wonderful yet thought-provoking symphony?

Not my cup of tea. It is far too slow! That's btw a huge problem of many Wagner performances in the last few decades. Wagner himself would probably not like it. He told his conductors constantly to make it faster because otherwise the audience would fall asleep 😊

It's very odd that Richard & Cosima, despite Parsifal, are two of the most disgusting racists ever put on earth.

Jon Vickers is the best Siegmund ever. I wish governements would find young talents and raise and train them to become great Wagnerian voices. just as Russia and China train Olympic athletes. I mean, even if the kids don't wanna do it. We need those voices.

I could be here from a plethora of movies/ shows/ media that use this song so I'm going to pick Rango since the slow-motion jonny Depp lizard in a dress being flung through the air while being shot by inbred hillbilly moles riding bats fighting over an empty jug of water is more superior to any other use of this musical masterpiece and you now know it. Your welcome.
