doesn’t tenia strictly and literally mean was having?
@spanishwithsylvia
@spanishwithsylvia Год назад
Hey! Good question! Not necessarily.. it could mean that in certain situations … but a more literal translation of “was having” would be “estaba teniendo”

OK I tried a few and I seem to still not get it. Maybe the google translator I am checking against does not know the difference....jaja I had the money.....I figured that was a one time...put in Tuvo...translator changed it to tenia I had headaches all last week...used tenia , translator changed it to tuve hmmmm?
@spanishwithsylvia
@spanishwithsylvia Год назад
Yeah Google has a hard time without other context cues. Also ‘tuve’ would be the preterite version of I had … tuvo means he/she/it had.
@spanishwithsylvia
@spanishwithsylvia Год назад
That’s great that you are practicing! 😃

Thank you! 🤗 I appreciate your kind words and feedback! I wondered if it’s too long … maybe I will divide the longer lessons into smaller chunks in the future 🤔. Or maybe I will provide both 🤔. If you have an opinion about that I’d be interested in hearing it. (If not that’s ok too) ☺️
