I wonder why Melody just isn’t there in the cutscene before the fight the lute? When I saw that I was so confused because she was definitely there in THAT cutscene -I came back to destroy the lute-
I know this has nothing to do with the randomizer run or anything, but... GOD, how much i love the fact that you can have William as a Lyokowarrior in this game.
I guess that the "plague" was caused by the lute, since we can see dorian has it after spending the 2 years in the crypt? Either that, or after being revived by the lute, the lute got destroyed and she doesn't have to keep playing anymore
I still don't understand one thing tho: how tf is Melody still alive after Aria destroyed the lute? I mean, she was revived thanks to it, just like Aria, and Aria died. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that that stupid old fart is dead, but... eh?
After finally beating the Lute for myself I can come here and watch all the cutscenes together where I can better retain the information without hours and hours of attempts in between xD
I have Crypth of the necrodancer amplified i wanted to ask If im playing with aria i need to beat all the zones in order to see the cinematics? Is it necesary to beat zone 5 before zone 4?
i cant tell if there are glaring plot holes or if i just dont get it, but it is directly said that when someone stops playing the lute, the dead die again. melody and aria are both dead but revived by the lute. melody finds her mother and passes on the lute to her so she can destroy it. and so aria eventually does. but melody is still alive? and why was melody alive after giving the lute to her mother and leaving? why did aria die again after destroying the lute but melody did not? it has always bothered me that the rules of the lute are directly stated but then immediately ignored.
@@Soashivito there is the final cutscene with the cadence and her mother and father as a full family after they leave the crypt, standing over aria's grave. this makes no sense because even if they both traveled together to destroy the lute (as you suggest), melody would have still died regardless of where she was once the lute was destroyed. there is no conceivable way that melody would live after passing on the lute considering that the lute was what was keeping her alive and with the lute's destruction, nothing is left to keep her alive and so she would die again. also its kind of dumb that aria is using the lute as she travels to the shrine but in game we can only use the dagger unlike her daughter who uses the lute as her weapon.
yeah seems like a plothole. I guess they did forget or simply did not want as much "drama" at the end of the game. That aria did not use the lute as a weapon could maybe be a hint that she is not as gifted as her daugther, in terms of playing the lute.
Aria was kind of a hell But it always calmed me down to listen to her stories after i finished aria To be honest, aria isnt simple but its managable. Aria may be hard at first but if you train and rock to the rhytm you can do it. The best strategy is to stick up to the rhytm and know the attacks as best as you can.
I know this video is over 2 years old, but is that Discord server still up? I'd like to join and share my experiences with many deaths to missed beats and dozens of shards of broken glass.
Ah, the memories... At the first necrodancer fight my heart started beating so fast i had to calm down for a minute before i could properly start it. And the sense of accomplishment after beating him, on my first try even (i love you, potion) after the biggest adrenaline rush i ever had in any game Feeling so incredibly good after defeating the golden lute (without any fancy tactics, just one hit at a time) And, of course, being at Gamescom and having a leg cramp after beating zone 2 on a dance pad
I beat Cadence’s Necrodancer fight an hour ago and my blood was PUMPING, god, I’ve been trying to beat Zone 4 for the past couple days and finally finally managing it was so relieving
@@RangingCatX5 it is really, really hard, but I'm sure you can do it. Try at least to play another character without to skip a beat, it will be a good start for your training
@@Alegriacaptions it reminds me of Celeste .. to get the deathless golden strawberry 1 mistake is needed to send you back to the start like this is the same thing
Does anyone know if there is a reason why Aria takes dammage when missing a beat? Cadence was cursed by the Necrodancer to move to the rythm and Melody had to keep playing the Lute to stay alive, but for some reason it is only Aria who take dammage from missed beat. Is that only for gameplay reason or is there a lore reason i am missing? I can understand the 1/2 hp (she is weak since she got stabbed in the hearth) and the dagger (the one that stabbed her) but not the missed beat.
The dagger is driven straight into her heart. If her heart beats without her doing anything, that just makes the wound worse, as it pumps blood out endlessly. Moving keeps her alive because it the knife shifts around preventing more blood loss. Or you could sum it up to “the game needs a very difficult character”.
Mostly for gameplay reasons, but they tried to tie it in lore wise with the fact she had a dagger driven through her chest to her heart when she is revived by Melody.
Honestly, the missed beat thing should've been on Melody instead of Aria since Melody has to keep playing to live. Gameplay-wise, it would've also made sense since Melody is the easiest of the three girls. I really don't get why there's such a huge difficulty spike going from Melody to Aria.
What I don’t understand is why doesn’t Aria use the Lute during her part? She’s the one that holds it in the Final Boss scenes, so why didn’t she use it during her way back up? Also Melody wouldn’t take damage because she technically IS playing the Lute. Basically she plays it while moving as well a standing still, which is why she can’t use any other weapon since she would have to drop the Lute. I don’t think she would stop playing when she misses a beat. Melody’s heartbeat doesn’t affect how she plays the Lute.
@@thenonexistentwatcher9001 I'm guessing Aria doesn't use the lute because she knows that the lute takes away your humanity and doesn't want to become like Octavian. Melody on the other hand only knows that her mother 'took that thing away for a reason', which she thinks is that people would kill them to get their hands on the lute, as seen in Melody's story.
Im kinda dissapointed in myself that I decided to cheat and just look up the cutscense because Aria's campaign is such a pain in the ass. But Im gonna keep trying to complete it.
be glad not every character has lore as than you'd have to play coda who has the negative effects of bolt, monk, and aria while also making enemies that don't normally drop gold, drop gold and making you start in zone 1 and moving to 4 like normal instead of aria's reverse
@@gamesandglory1648 AFAIK Coda's all zone has been succeeded and recorded without any cheat by less than 30 people. That's what the TV Tropes page says, at least. That's 0,006% of the COTN players.
@@Alegriacaptions I didn't know it was THAT rare but I knew it was rare considering just how hard coda is and the fact that to unlock them you need to play every single character in a row without dying.
@@gamesandglory1648 well that's for the official part, there are probably people who couldn't make themselves known. Also I have no idea when that number has been updated for the last time.
@@Alegriacaptions If you have the game on steam you can see how rare the achievements are which would tell you what percent of necrodancer players on steam have it. although it's probably a "secret" achievement which would mean to see what percent of players have done it you would need to do it.
This looks like a fun game but it's a bit confusing the old woman shouldn't she be the grandmother and not the mother cuz she sought out the lute first then the woman who got the plague came back to life and then the daughter went to look for the father
Cadence: Gets the Lute and revives Melody. Melody (mother) : Must play and hold the Lute to live, goes to the Crypt to look for answers about the Lute but accidentally awakens Aria (grandmother) Aria: Takes the Lute and goes to destroy it. Although my question is why Aria couldn’t use it, but uses a dagger.
except The nechrodancer had lived for over 3 centuries before those generation and than gave up on life than aria had the lute wanted to destroy it than gave it to the nechrodancer.
Okay but I thought they were all being kept alive by the lute and thus would all die if it was destroyed. Not sure I understand this mostly happy ending.
I was confused as well, but I figure that being revived by the lute is a magical effect that is independent of its "curse". So once the lute is destroyed, the curse of being forced to play and drain your humanity is gone, but anyone who was reanimated still stay alive. A little too convenient but it is magic, so I guess why not?..
My guess is that the curse was passed from melody to aria when she used it to place it on the shrine which is why both where revived by it but only aria died after she stopped playing
I only beat Cadence's story and I'm like: You want me to do that again with less attack power and less hearts even?! T_T The game is cool but I don't think I'm good enough to finish both Melody's and Aria's stories yet. ^_^''
@@Life4Nintendo The Lost is easy as fuck compared to Aria. The Lost can take any items, he takes Devil items for free, there are ways for him to safely dispose of enemies and there NO external gimmicks which kill him. Moreover, he was buffed in add-on. Aria is just straight unfair (hell, all characters in Crypt except for Cadence are gimped in one way or the other, while in Isaac all characters (except for three) have their strengths).
@@nyx_3210 ikr even though cadence of hyrule is fun it is very shirt, I beat it in a day. Necrodancer has a way steeper difficulty curve and much more depth and weapon types.
