Cash Your Greens focuses on "How to Grow, Learn and Earn" from garden to greenhouse. We focus on roses, hydrangeas, Citrus, and vegetables. Our videos will show you how to propagate various plants from cuttings, grafting, and seeds. This year we are going to be including clean and cook segments at the end of our videos which will feature mostly Asian cooking from the vegetables we grow in our garden. We update videos each week, however we do not have a specific day in which we update.
Good Day, I have a grafted kumquat tree thats about a year old and it has thorns on its branches. Should I cut those branches off or is it a defense mechanism against pest? Or just leave the tree alone. I know it takes about 2yrs - 3yrs to bear fruit
the biggest trick to share with you in using soil acidifier to keep pH at 6.5 and to also use a lot of compost as well as a Phosphorus fertilizer to enhance blooming, Use a self pruning root pot as well unless you are growing in the ground year around. These are the major issues to keep hold of for fast blooming. If this doesnt work right away, your tree is too young to bloom and will require a couple more years if you grew it from seed,
I have a question that many other people are probably wondering also. Do you leave the fogger on full time, or do you have it on a timer? I've read that you should have them on no more than15 minutes, then have them off for 15 minutes. I also read from the results of a google search, that you should have them on for 5 minutes, then off for 15 minutes. What is the ratio that you use, because you're having a great deal of success with it.
Hi there, I’ve watched one or two of your videos but never seen the man - very interesting and fun! My citrus trees make Loads of Leaves - and No Flowers. I’ve fed the plants with citrus compost, it’s made them have lots of leaves!any advice please, cos the plants look Very healthy - just don’t make flowers/fruit… Thank you in advance for any advice 😊😊
Hi, i got a small Meyer lemon plant in March, i e transferred it to a larger pot. How long for it to grow flowers before the lemons? Also i noticed today 2 small caterpillar looking worms. Should i be concerned?
Her videos are incredibly helpful. I bought a dwarf navel orange tree last summer, and the nursery mentioned it was 2 years old and should produce fruit. Living in Canada, the winters are harsh, so I kept the plant near a window. It started blooming in the middle of winter, but the flowers quickly fell off. This summer, I moved it outside, and while it began to bloom and grow new leaves, the flowers are still falling off. Can you help me?
cirus trees are prone to drop their blossoms for a number of reasons, it sounds l.ike in your case your moving your tree and they don't like to reacclimate from one temperature/hours of sunlight, going to indoor lighting to natural lighting, also the amount of watering can effect this as well... Your plant will get more growth outside as the Kelvins form the sun are much better, Fertilize it with compost and use worm castings, This would be my recommendation to you,, hope it helps,, also how big is your tree?
Thanks so much for getting back . I am unsure of the exact age of the plant, as it was mentioned to produce fruits in its second year when I purchased it. I kept it indoors during the winter, but decided to move it outside for the summer in hopes that it would thrive. However, it quickly began to look sad, with browning leaves and stems. After watching some instructional videos, I repotted the plant and fertilized it with citrus stone organic fertilizer. I discovered that the roots were bound, so I soaked them and provided more space when replanting. I have been watering it with fish fertilizer once a week, hoping for improvement. While I have seen new growth with lots of green leaves, some are healthy while others are falling off after being touched, along with new buds.
@@hudharizzy795 transplanting them into a self-airpruning pot 5 gal makes the most sense this will prevent root bounding. Add worm castings too, BLACK GOLD. keep your soils pH at 6 to 6.5 also keep a close eye on spidermites and mealy bugs..Use Azatek plus to keep it pest free
I love all the information she gives but the accent is too strong and distracting. There are times when I can't understand what she's saying. Thank you for making this video and hopefully, I will see more improved presentations in the future.
I have a citrus tree in my yard and I don't know what kind of citrus it is. i think it's 4 or 5 years old already i saw it flower but it doesn't produce fruit.
I’m testing out cow manure and compost and added the epsom salt and citrus fruits fertilizer. Also added holes all around the base and mid section of the 25 gallon pots.
I lost all my leave due to heavy rains, they turned yellow and green, not fully yellow.Should I remove it from pot clean it and trim tangled roots. Then put it in fresh earth
i would check to make sure your plant has proper drainage too much water will cause this to happen as well as root rot, Make sure you have good drainage, that's where id start. You can remove the yellow leaves but make sure to leave some for photosynthesis.
Lovely video , thank you for the awesome information you shared with everyone , I also loved the beautiful music at the end of the video ,what is the song ? I really liked it , 🙏
you are so welcome glad you liked it,,as for the music i subscribe to epidemic music where Gregg finds the mood of the music that fits the video, I have no idea the name of it im sorry
I don't see any thorny bits on your lemon plant I wonder why mine is full of prickly bits. It's two yrs now ant I don't see any blooms I would appreciate your advice please
Mam, i contacted you 3 years ago and you advised about my lemon tree. It was 2 feet tall at that time. Now It is grown 10 inch taller to 34 inches and i am happy about that. But, last year, it did not bloom, but it stated producing enormus, gigantic leaves in the growing tips !!! Now, this April i put it out for Summer. At this minute, it produced about 22 flower buds and hoping to see lots of lemons. Mam, this produced gigantic leaves, it still there in the plant !!! Why is that,Mam, gigantic leaves !!?? Please.
growing leaves is a good thing as it is the source of providing your plant with sugar for your plants growth. The majority of questions that people usually ask me is why are my leaves falling off my tree. It appears that your plant is getting a lot of nitrogen from some source, Are you fertilizing it? Composting it? Let me know what youve been doing to feed it ok ? we will take it from there,
@@marcelinanoss8825 Thank you Mam for your KIND REPLY. Mam, i brought it indoors for Winter, last December. I kept it dry in constant temperature at 24 degree celcius. If the leaves are drooping then i gave little water from my FISH TANK, that is all, but nothing store bought NPK granules. That was it.. from March, April this year it started giving gigantic leaves, Mam. I honestly thought that some kind of SUCKER started growing !!!!!!!! Anyway, i did not that bunch of leaves and stem. Now it is outdoors and big leaves are still in the plant. Thanks mam.
greetings from New Zealand. really nice watching you, your dedication and enthusiasm. just to clarify, rooting the cuttings will never achieve strong root ball and the root system will be prone do dying. so best it to grow a plant from seed as the rootstock. and then grafting onto that rootstock? i dont see much point in grafting onto the rooted cuttings...?
you can do it either way. Calamondin is a very strong plant. The problem with using seeded plant is it takes 3 years to mature before you can graft onto it. You will also have to use a differnt style of grafting technique which will scare most novice gardeners away. The way i shoed in the video is easy enough for most people to perform, You are right about using the deeded plant for the root stock if youhave that much patience and time to wait, thanks for your input,, much appreciated,, thanks!
@@marcelinanoss8825 thank you , this is v helpful info that sheds more light as to why techqnique can be preferred over another one. did not realise that i would needto wait 3 years. i guess im not that patient :)
Hello Marcelina! My name is Modesto and I'm so impressed with your knowledge and dedication. Does this also applies to Chico/sapodilla?Our tree drops a lot of flowers and only bears some fruit. Can you please help me what to do? Thanks.
I germinated 10 moringa seeds that are now about 10 inches high. They seem very leggy and I feel they need to be in a bigger pot. At the moment, they are in a 5 inch tall pot. I do see a few roots coming out at the bottom. Is it time to transplant and how big of a pot do you recommend?
use good compost soil mixed with sand and repot them in a 1 gallon container, that should keep them happy until they are 3 ft tall at which time transfer them into a 3 gallon pot or place them in the ground if you are in a warm tropical climate.
