Loved this tag and your answers! I understand not mentioning a book with an unexpected plot twist. It does make it harder to read the book without looking for it. One book I can think of that just ended with nothing further to wrap it up is The Picture of Dorian Gray. It's a very different type of classic, but a very interesting read.
The renaissance faire we have been to definitely felt more renaissance era. There was no craft tents I don't think, and there is a lot of old style buildings, and fun shows.
I went to Mackinac Island by myself and it was fantastic! I loved going by myself. Ren fairs are so much fun! I have been to a few, I have never dressed up but next time I go I am totally dressing up.
@@lovelydaywithholly I would probably put together my Evil Queen inspired costume from Once Upon A Time. I don't know if we are going this year, but hopefully next year.
@@paperbacksandponytails oooooooh, please take me along your journey in putting your outfit together either through texting or vlog style here! I’d love that!
I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're asking for, but the Dreamtreaders Saga by Wayne Thomas Batson has a HUGE plot twist that I did not see coming the first time that is revealed in about the third to last page. Things still wrap up a bit more, but that twist changes everything about the series in retrospect.
So fun! Thx for sharing! You looked so cute - i loved the freckles! I absolutely love to cosplay. I've been to ren faire a couple times with my acting class and we performed so we were in costume. I also dress up at costume parties, now my monthly reading wrap ups, and whenever i can. My friend had a willy wonka movie night at her house so i went in costume and felt like so happy LOL😂it was so fun.
You didn't go alone, you took us with you! I love this so much Holly. It really felt like I was there with you ( I really wish I was!) I've gone to several ren fairs, In Maryland, Virginia, and Austin TX. All of them were in the woods, so this looked very different. There's even an old abandoned ren fair village in the woods in my town. It has barbed wire all around in, but I'd love to sneak in😁 I get dressed up, but not as good as you were! Your whole look was amazing! I've never done a trip like this alone, but I did a 6 hour road with with my daughter to the Mothman festival when she was 14. That was so much fun😄 I stayed in a hotel alone when I was visiting my friend in TX. It felt so fancy, and I want to do that again:)
I haven’t cosplayed, but I have Disney bounded as Rapunzel before and I LOVED it! I do road trips by myself a few times a year, but I definitely prefer to have company! It looked like a lot of fun!
this was amazing to see!!! So exciting! You looked great, very hobbit like! I have never gone to a renaissance fair but would like to, for sure. I haven't cosplayed yet, but have been gathering things to do Arwen, and am really close! Also have some pirate cosplay for the future
Algorithm brought me here because I watch a lot of ren faire content. I love the look you wound up with at the end! The brown shirt is so cute under the bodice; I think it's the sleeve shape and earth tone that really sells it as hobbity. I couldn't exactly tell how much length you have, but if it's long enough and you are able to attach an O ring to the end of that strap you're using as a belt, you could wear it as a ring belt, which is very common in historical garb. I hope you enjoy your first faire!
@@tstymctst oh, I’m so glad you’re here! Thank you for commenting! Do you visit Ren Faires as well or do you mostly just enjoy watching the content here on YT? I will definitely look into the O ring suggestion!!! Thank you!!
@@lovelydaywithholly yes, I am very fond of attending my local Ren Faire! I found out about it just before it started up in 2019, and I've gone every year since (excluding 2020, obviously). It's a small one, but this year a bigger one is starting up as well, so I'm very excited for that. I've also been to a well established one in a neighboring state, and I'll be making a trip this fall to the big Faire in Maryland. I've already started considering plans to visit ones in a couple of other states next year, too. It's definitely one of my favorite things to do! Watching other people's Ren Faire videos is a great way to see what the vibe is at events I might want to visit, and there's so many fun outfit ideas to take inspiration from. All in all, I've found it to be a very welcoming community online and off, and I love seeing more and more people getting interested in it :)
I love this so much! I never really thought I'd be one to get into cosplay but this video (and probably also the fact that we just finished watching LOTR again) make me want to give it a try! You rocked the hobbit look so well. PLEASE tell me you got a decent amount of photos of you, actually scratch that, you need a full on photoshoot with all your props, do it. I'll even be your photographer if you need, that really needs to happen. Can't wait to watch the vlog!
@@ChantelReadsAllDay ahhh! I love this! Yes yes yes! Once I have the shire done in our yard, I’d love for you to come snap some photos of me in my space!!! 💖💖💖🥳🤗
So fun!!!! You go, girl! Cosplay is the best!!! My June wrap up, I will be dressing up! I love the first and last outfits. I think the last one is my favorite😊
For the green skirt I would say it would work sort of like Tom Bombadil’s wife Goldberry. I would look at kind of how she’s dressed cause she has similar colors to what you have and maybe that can work.
