Awesome Match Costas 2 games down looks like match over when Costas wins the third with ease. Costas wins the fourth with margin to spare to draw even. It's now 2 games each. The final match Costas leads easy with James losing badly only to fight back hard but to late and to no avail. Its a tense nail biting ending with Costas taking the match, 3 games to 2. Hearty Congratulations.
Well played Vadym. Think you might be able to tell I was really nervous in this match, I was playing way too passive and was choosing the wrong times to attack most of the time. After looking back at this, I realised I didn't attack with my backhand at all, I only blocked with it which did pretty well for me at times. I had been training up my backhand recently but my nerves got the better of me as it was the first proper match I had played for a long time. After this match I thought I played terrible but when you beat George soon after and watching this back, I realised I didn't play as bad as I thought; it was just you that played much better that day! It wasn't a surprise to me that you got player of the match that round as you definitely earned it. Well done to you and your team!! Hopefully next time I play you, I will keep my backhand block a wall at all times and not get too nervous or passive 😅. Congrats on both the wins and I wish you the very best on your future matches in SBL! Until next time! Luke (Also at time 4:34 of the video is my favourite rally)
Luke - thank you for your kind words, much appreciated. I think that post-match video review definitely helped me improve as a player. So I am glad you found the video of our match useful. I found your backhand blocking/countering to be very consistent and difficult to deal with. It is a very useful weapon to have as a table tennis player. I was lucky to win in 4. Looking forward to our next match! P.S.: That was indeed a very good rally, at least for the one who won it in the end! :-)
@VadymKrevs thank you! It's a shame that my match against Akash didn't get recorded as I had to move table because I felt I played a lot better in that match. I need to film myself more. Nonetheless, this was a great example and is enough to let me know what I need to work on. Thanks very much for posting! Also loved the point at time 2:46, a great way to end the set!
@@lukerickett6253 Yes, George would be a tough opponent for anyone, but for me especially - since I tend to struggle against left-handled opponents. So I was very happy to win, did not expect it at all. Looking forward to our match in the next round!
Hey, this is Luke from sbl. Well done this weekend, you played really well, I have to say. I'm just wondering if you have videos from when all of you played us Brighton guys? I'd quite like to see and reflect on them and possibly make a highlights video of all the best points we had. If you don't, then that's fine, no problem at all 👍
Hi Luke. Thank you. Congratulations to you and your team on a well-deserved top position after the first weekend! The videos from our match will be published tomorrow evening (it takes some time to prepare them for uploading, etc).
Thanks! This was recorded on my mobile phone using a borrowed tripod. I forgot to bring my own tripod, so could not use the camcorder (and it couldn't be attached to the borrowed tripod). The colours are definitely brighter/more vivid when recording on the mobile. And yes, I did play the banded events in the Crawley Grand Prix but didn't record anything due to the forgotten tripod ...
