I was unaware of any of this at the time, as I was just behind you and spun in exactly the same place, going off to the right. Somebody else just behind me then also spun, going off to the left. What a S-show! I'm glad nobody was killed, though at least one of the injuries is rather serious.
Please do not press the clutch for the time when you are waiting on traffic light. The frank bearings and mostly the primare gear on the frank would say thank you…
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called "Abgasbespaßung".
This is all very sad and utterly pointless. The arrogance of mankind’s action following the belief that climate’s mean temperature can be impacted by the banning of emissions of planet earth’s most critical atmospheric gas (CO2) is a tragedy. Without CO2 above 180 ppm, plants struggle to survive and without plants animal food chains collapse. The abundance of food in the World today is primarily due to the current levels of atmospheric CO2. I wish more people bothered to understand the molecular level chemistry and physics of CO2 interacting with outbound long wave infra red radiation…if they did they would realise that it is water vapour that is the largest energy absorbing greenhouse gas and not CO2…and we have no ability to influence that. Alongside this they need to look at the variability of the output of radiant energy from the sun and as well the orbital changes… Sorry to harp on, but the EU and particularly Germany have really stuffed up their call on this subject. Shutting down all their Nuclear plants will prove to be one of the dumbest decisions ever…just give away your competitive position re energy (which is everything) to all the developing countries of the World and watch your per capita GDP tumble, and all for zero impact on Climate….enough time to get back to lovely, engaging and historically interesting classic cars
My absolute favourite RU-vid video! Bruce Manon driving Mike Sexton's Ford Escort passing 45 cars and showing why the ERC series with such huge variety of cars has been such a favourite with drivers and spectators alike. Handicap racing at its very best. When asked whey he hadn't overtaken the Marcos straightaway, Bruce's comment was that he wanted me (the driver and series organiser ) to win. Bruce, a gentleman driver and superb racer not to mention he prepared the car...
@@mjsnz1 I had the 4 cylinder BGT and after that the TR7 V8 (converted - not original) in South Africa. Sold now because I moved to the UK. I'm not likely going find another because of rust issues. But the performance and sound ......... your video makes it all so tempting - thanks.
Now for the funny story, cant hear anything you said. Try putting a mike closer to your face ! At least show us a picture of the exhaust system your so proud of.
I bought a new Glacier White GT V8 in August 1973 - reg HFF 416, sold her in 1982, bought her back in 1985 and resold her in 1991, wish I hadn’t as I miss the car enormously. It’s still about and appears mint according to MOT history. Would love to be reunited with her. The late Barry Sidery-Smith dealt with all the sales, bless him.
I have the joy and privilege of getting to drive our friend's '73 standard to car shows on occasion here in the States. I never tire of it. Thank you for sharing your video.
Formula Juniors have maximum capacity of 1100cc with engines based on production car engines from the late 1950’s and weigh about 400kgs….we run cross ply tyres and drum brakes…top speed reached is circa 185 kph
Two iron blocks - 1.8B (85/95/130hp (supercharger kit)) and 3.0C - the V8 is a 215cui buick aluminium engine, 3.5, and was a nightmare at first to cast for BMC because iron casting and machining very different to working aluminium. 80% of castings failed.
Am in the process of finishing up a SS 2" Big Bore Bell system on my '68 OTS. Since I put the EDIS ignition system on with a .050 spark plug gap am excited to see how the new exhaust system sounds & performs.
@@mjsnz1 If you are talking about engine inlet valves mine are the larger 1 7/8" (?)versus the standard size. I think that is the right size,,,but larger than standard.
@@2541968joey Yes my cylinder head had that improvement as well... the 4.2l engines still had the same small valves as the 3.4l so they struggled to breath...the bigger valves together with the gigger bore exhaust and full extractors improves the engines breathing hugely and the car feels much more responsive to the throttle, stronger and more fun...but there is a drone in mine at around 100kph...liveable but encourages you to travel at 110 kph
Haha...agree... the video was made to help sell the car...it worked and has had so many views I just leave it up. I took the car for a huge roadie a few years back...around 4000kms all over NZ.
Yes, fair comment..this was my second run up the hill...I came back in 2016 and took over a minute off to record a best time of 6 min 50 sec...i'll upload a video from that year...camera position not as good
