some advice to the newbs watching this; "dripping hot" clear placed immediately can and will cause a visual lens, resembling a round crack. great video just wanna point that out.
@@coloradocolorcompany205 - I eventually found it the "jaws" tool. Its sold out though. Isn't there another company that makes them though? trangia or something? i cannot find them.
Whoops! Sorry, you were looking for the jaws-style tool. Yeah Taglia is making some that are available at ABR Imagery, Lampwork Supply and Mountain Glass.
I don’t feel like I said anything bad about you. And I wasn’t trying to project anything snotty about my comment. I genuinely am wondering how honeycomb technique is done. I’m sorry if you took this the wrong way and I never meant to offend you.
All Good! We understand people want to see the process. This video was intended to show how to use the murrine products we sell. Check out Torch Talk on RU-vid, Mike Mason shows the process of making the actual Murrine there.
@@coloradocolorcompany205that dude is trippin, rollers are easy to make, skateboard bearings and some scrap steel and if you don't have a welder braze it with your glassblowing torch
Thanks for sharing, cool to see how to blow up the murine your way, could you make a video demoing the honeycomb Mill itself, though? That seems to be the more important bit
Hey, No Prob! This video was intended to show how to use the Murrine we sell on the site. Check out Torch Talk on RU-vid, there are some awesome videos on how to make it from Mike Mason.
Nobody would share this information in the late 90's. Thank you so much. Heading down to Boro Art Supply to pick up more of your tubing and get melting.
It seems like the glass 20 years ago was so much better than what I see in stores these days. I want a real piece, started shopping around and found Jerome Baker online; their pieces looked as good as the old days - but now you got to pay 1200 for what was once 180. lol It's all weird beaker looking stuff these days for the 180 price range. Unless you pay art prices - you're getting something that came off a line in China. Does anyone know where to get those fatty color changing pieces with cool stuff in the bubbles like you'd find at hippie fests back in the day? Any help would be appreciated.
Quality glass can still be found with some searching. Over the past two decades, inflation has led to increased prices in raw materials, rent, and gas, impacting the overall cost of glass products. Consider checking out JBD, Grinder Glass, or Space Glass(from Colorado) on Instagram for pieces in that style, but be prepared to pay more compared to prices 20 years ago. Supporting artists may also come with a slightly higher price tag than opting for Chinese-made alternatives.
Just curious, what is a disk used for? besides a decooration, I'm trying to figure out what you would do with it by itself or if its used to put into a largere pieece?
Yes, these videos are mainly focused on components that you can add to larger works of art. Eventually, we will build up to using these in sections in bigger pieces.
I'm probably a little too late for the giveaway but please keep making these videos they're great appreciate the info you give us through these videos.❤🔥
