I’ve found they tend to schedule colonoscopy appointments early because they think you can’t go that long without eating - but if that’s not an issue for you get it scheduled for early afternoon & you’ll get a better night’s sleep!
I didn't have a choice on this one as my doctor was really booked out so it took the first available appointment he had. It all worked out well. I was able to come home and take a nap!
SOOO convenient.. can't help but wonder if silicone is being leached into food though... glass is safer option but a complete pain to defrost and get the soup out...
Thank you for the tip about freezing the sprouted oats. I didn’t realize they could go rancid. I keep mine on the counter and it takes me quite a while to use the whole bag.
I attended my niece’s formal, black tie, wedding in NY this past weekend. Invitation said dietary needs can be accommodated. I called a week prior. Spoke to the manager. He assured me they would make me anything I want. Just let the server know. The morning of the wedding I went to the reception hall with my sister to leave her car there. Saw the manager. He again assured me no problem. Tell the server what I want. That evening, the server took orders. Said she would come back to talk to me. She never did. She brought me a plate of oil soaked onions, red and green peppers. I had to ask her to bring me a potato, pasta, rice. Anything. She brought me a small serving of rice that was salty. I have another wedding next month. This time I’m bringing my own food to the reception.
I’ve had 3 colonoscopies now (I’m 48 but my family has a history of colon cancer on my dad’s side). I have been lucky so far and nothing found. Last one has been a while ago, I should follow up if I need another…feel like it was 2020. My gastroenterologist tells me to eat as per usual up to 24 hours before, and then I can only have clear fluids like broth…plus the prep.
I do Pilates reformer classes also, and there are usually 1-2 guys in the class of 6. My location has a lot of people over 50. It helped me a lot after a whiplash injury, combined with Physical Therapy (not in place of it). Many PT clinics are incorporating Pilates to get people started on a routine, then have them transition to a community-based class or private sessions once symptoms are resolved or manageable.
@@kristinj7173 It’s such a wonderful way to exercise and increase abdominal strength, work on balance and to fine tune our bodies! I’m glad it helped with your whiplash.
Oh I love Kathy! I love how she's so down to earth, not a perfectionist and just goes with the flow. She just seems so genuine and has a great way of explanaing things - tools, recipes etc! Thanks for having her on your channel.
This was fantastic- thank you both for a great hour of updates, Q&A, and for creating these new recipes!!! They ALL sound amazing! I vote for the soup! :)
I’m on a 5- year schedule for colonoscopy. The first one I had 2, 5 years later had 1, and my past one I had zero! He still wanted to see me in 5 years so I’m due next year. I attribute the improvement to my vegan diet and he agrees.
Thanks for your comments on the chips. I must admit that i usually put about a kilo of potatoes in for hubby and I and we eat them all. After watching this video, I think I need to section off just the same amount I'd eat as a baked potato, which is probably less than half of that. Much appreciate your work.
@@gingermitchell5441 we don’t eat out very often. We do like pho vegan Asian cuisine in Rocklin. They have an oil free and gluten free menu. The Tami’s Special is not on the menu but it is in their computer. It is a veggie stir, fry oil free, sugar free, gluten free over Brown rice. Delicious! www.smorefood.com/order-online/pho-vegan-asian-cuisine-rocklin-95677-1xlrgj85?
HI! I so enjoyed this grocery haul. It feels like it has been a long time since I was watching you from your kitchen! I know your busy and have a lot of things on the go, but I miss the live chats where you answered questions, explained a facet of going/being plant based etc. I know you are probably tire of those type of vids but I loved them. Regardless I will watch any videos you put out. Thanks for all the hard work you both do, it helps keep me on track and I like feeling like a part of likeminded group.
@@jackieo2403 Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful comments. We had a lot of fun doing those live talks. It’s great to know you enjoyed those videos. I’m not sure what we will do regarding live shows in the future other than grocery hauls. But we might pop on and do an impromptu live now and again. Of course recipe videos and such are still in the works. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. ❤️
@@jackieo2403 I do post daily on Instagram and Facebook with lots of recipes, weight loss tips and what we are eating. Here is a recent post. m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0RbArPyzg7zkMZU2aMSfdbJ6HGsE9riAYzdXs4nHF8WXNdQTdPQwDLG6h649AFj3Ml&id=100063500652927&mibextid=cr9u03
Thank you, I just started trying tofu and it was helpful to know Costco has it at a great price. Would love to see some of your tofu and tempeh recipes
@@christinerackley492 here is a post I made today. m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0RbArPyzg7zkMZU2aMSfdbJ6HGsE9riAYzdXs4nHF8WXNdQTdPQwDLG6h649AFj3Ml&id=100063500652927&mibextid=cr9u03
Great info. I always buy the tri-color bell peppers and freeze them. I dice half for sautéing and slice the other half for fajitas, works perfectly. Heading to your roasted garlic video now. Thanks.
This video has been so helpful for me. I am a starchaholic. Ive been eating way too much starch and not enough non-starchy veggies. I’ve been gaining weight. I have to turn it around!
I cook acorn squash like my mother did…..poke it several times, put on parchment lined pan….and put the WHOLE squash in the oven….60 min for 45=60 min. Much easier than cutting in half…..
Good for us to see all this shopping. You van always get more at your Costco than me here at a small store in Georgetown, TX We’re happy to have one. They have a lot of I don’t go to Whole Foods very often. It is a little over an hour one way. I am interested in getting the burger you mentioned. I guess i need to go back to get the name. I was preparing our breakfast. Thanks for sharing. Wonderful you showed a picture of you, your mom, and son.
We are oil free but not fat free. There is some natural healthy fats in things like tofu, avocado, tahini, nuts and nut butter. I avoided those when I was losing weight but now allow some in my weekly diet.
I never get tired of watching your grocery hauls! I sure hope our Costco carries the organic canned pumpkin, that’s a great deal. It’s that time of year, I’ll be making some of your pumpkin recipes. They’re all delicious. Thanks. 😊
@@olgas7799 I do post like that on Instagram and Facebook. Here is one I posted today. m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0RbArPyzg7zkMZU2aMSfdbJ6HGsE9riAYzdXs4nHF8WXNdQTdPQwDLG6h649AFj3Ml&id=100063500652927&mibextid=cr9u03
@@plantbased-chicoca8654 I haven’t had good luck with doing that. Maybe I haven’t left it upside down long enough. I’ll have to try again. Thanks so much for sharing a tip!
Love your comment re the plastic police - it’s not just in Northern California where most things, organic or not, are sold in plastic. I live in regional Victoria, Australia where most of the fruit and vegetables sold in supermarkets come in plastic. It’s the same when we are in England - plastic is everywhere
Oh my goodness the plastic used in Japan and Korea at the grocery is incredible!!!!!! they wrap single pieces of fruit, two onions, top baskets with more plastic...people I have seen don't bring re-usable produce bags because it is already packaged....
@@JillianSmith-bn5vj Thanks for sharing. We do the best we can with purchasing organic food that is affordable. We have seen some improvements at some of the stores now using paper trays to put the food instead of plastic etc.
It’s pumpkin season! Go buy 2-3 pie pumpkins and roast and freeze in 1 cup servings! I was told that canned pumpkin is not really pumpkin but different squashes.
