And here I thought I did something wrong with my install when I saw coils frosted over…thanks for supporting diy folks, I completed entire install including ducts by myself. I had heard these sounds at night but never knew what they were, now it all makes sense! Super happy with my product so far, someday we’ll get a video together 👍🏻💪🏼
I just bought a 12btu window ac/heater for my man cave / 3 car garage but I have not install it yet. Looking at Mr cool unit now. Garage is fully insulated about 620 sq ft with 8 ceiling ft high. I have pool table and gym in there😁 I live in Clovis California with a zone 9b or 9 I think

Hey so I know how to do the ac comfy mode with the ac and then the fan after it reaches the desired temp. Do I do the same with the heating feature. I noticed when I programmed it to shut off when a certain temp was reached it would shut off but the thermostat kept climbing because the unit was off and and closed up.
How are you able to make/transfer heat at -24 degrees? Is it the refrigerant or an onboard heat strip? If it’s a heat strip, how much power does it use to keep the home at 70 degrees? Could this be compared to electric baseboard/resistance heating?
I cannot believe the video shows the USB device inserted incorrectly. I'm on day 2 of trying to get this functioning. Very frustrated. I've set up almost 10 smart devices in my house. Why is this so poorly designed? Full instructions are also left out of this video.
very cool indeed. Is this still only available in white? If not, can it be readily painted/colorized? (Ask as I'm seriously contemplating a Mr. Cool Universal install for our cedar sided home -- and a stark white line down the side would be less than "cool")
I don't get how yours is doing that well. I have a newer house with crazy good insulation. On 3 ton it struggles to heat my house to 72 when it's 35 out. 1400 sq ft house. It's like the staging doesn't want to go passed 50%
Question. Why would you need to incorporate a gas furnace if the Mr Cool is rated to produce 100% rated BTUs down to -5 degrees? And gas cost more than electricity.
I am licensed HVAC contractor. I did install a few of these heat pumps for my customers and now I am installing two pf 4-5 tons systems for my house. However, I am doing dual fuel systems with 95% furnaces. Will see what will happen to my utility bill this winter.
That is a Proposition 65 warning as required by the State of California. So long as you do not remove internal components from the unit and eat them, we're pretty sure you're not going to get cancer from an air conditioner.
This was a good overall video but no one says WHERE the electricity came from - how to protect any wires hat have come from a mysterious place - if it has to be a dedicated breaker- what size breaker????? a commenter gave a good description of what thy did but I think Mr Cool should have reminded people to also be sure there is electricity near your installation location.
When I open the first valve after connecting the line set, I can hear the gasses flow into the line. As I wasn't expecting that, I quickly shut the valve again. I figured with everything pre-charged I wouldn't hear anything or it would only last for a second or 2. Is this normal?
I’m hearing great reviews on the units by I’m second guessing purchasing bc every negative review only has to do with the customer service and issues claiming under warranties.
The finish looks a bit rough. The way the unit fits to the wall on the inside is not clean, too much space from unit to wall. The way the lineset is covered on the outside is similarly rough, just not clean looking. And that line set dropping down the outside is really ugly. I appreciate the utility and value of this solution. It's functional perhaps, but it's just not appealing in terms of looks.
Is this more accurate than the thermostat in the remotes? It has been my experience that the ones in the remotes are not accurate at all, even when an offset is calibrated in against a known-accurate thermometer. Aside from the thermostat, I love my 4 Mr Cool mini-splits!
No video or picture at heat pump. How does the liner exit the cover, where is the condensation drain? Joe did they get through the fence? This isn’t really a how to, just a marketing video.
