Just wondering... If you have to separate beer cans and pop cans; when you crush them will they give you a hard time saying they can't identify them easily? There had to be $20-$30 worth of cans alone.
Man, I love your new shop! That’s awesome! I mention it every video but it’s a big space! I’m so happy for you! Yeah it’s a little hard to hear but you’re trying to work so people need to understand. I know Drew( Scrapping with Grandpa mentioned it and he helps you with your page. But, you have a big operation going, scrapping, pallet’s, ect. Great video my friend! I want to become a member of your page, like I am with Grandpa. Good stuff!
in the netherland we have 25 cents on 1.5 L and 15 cents on 1 and under and cans are also 15 cents glass however are 10 cents but we dont get money for wine bottles i also do scraping and such
When I was going to the liquor store attached attached to the Verona Loblaw's, they would not take our crushed beer cans, as several people crushed soda cans and tried to pass them off as beer. I hope your experience is different friend.❤🇨🇦
I bought a pneumatic air cylinder can crusher off Amazon for my son. It works great. Really makes a difference in storing or transporting aluminum cans.
Id never collect cans but sometimes i buy storage lockers and find 5-6 bags of crushed cans. I take those in cuz someone else did the work for me. Time is Money, exploit those who you can, become the King. Remove your Prime Minister because he is Satan. Hello from America
Our yard pays us $0.52 a pound and I figure if I'm already pulling metal out of a dumpster I might as well take those also...tin shred is only 7.5 cents a pound so I take all metals and make that money
You'll make more money returning them for deposit, then Scraping them. Things with no deposit scrap them. Make that honest money any way you can. It’s all free and adds up. Thanks for the video as always.
Cans and bottles are worth gathering up. Canadian Treasure Hunter gets tons of them while he's scrapping and he does well with them. With the food cans, it doesn't take any more effort to throw them into an old dryer or something than it does taking them to a dumpster.
We keep our cans. I actually have a weigh and pay can video on my channel. Generally my son gets the can money. Bad thing is we have to sell by weight in Tennessee, but we dont pay the .10 cent deposits either.
Haven't been grabbing them just due to the fact we dont really have the room to hoard them up, and oh ya 100%..Money is money for sure. Maybe time to make up some kind of a can crusher in the new shop?
In my humble opinion, yes, aluminum beverage cans are worth it, especially since you are separating them like you are. Every little bit counts. (Also, and I may be wrong about this, but I think in Quebec, there are machines you can put ANY beverage container in and it refunds the deposit.) Food cans, aluminum or tin, are touchy. Check your scrap yards to see if they take them. But while we're on the topic, cat food cans are also aluminum. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
@@bigcountryscrapper6885 thanx for the geography lesson, Tips😉 (Last time I checked, Quebec was a little east of you. With the high cargo van, which I already suggested you call Might Whitey, you could bring a pretty impressive load on a day trip. Not my circus, not my monkeys brother, but personal I would consider the trip. Probably find a nice load of scrap in your way back too. Maybe a meet and greet with some fans. You get the picture.) Keep doing what you do. ♥️from AB 🇨🇦
oh i tried to do the glass thing too but couldn't find anyone that would buy it around here after a while so that was short lived. i had a few places that would buy it originally and you had to separate by color, green, brown and clear and they all had their different price points. but then when plastic bottles took over, nobody was doing the glass recycling here anymore and basicly shut down overnight leaving me with a truckload of each color until i learned it was a no go anymore. Also use to do the newspaper thing but i haven't done that since i came back. the one yard i sold it to don't do paper or cardboard anymore and the local paper mache place is no longer in business here so i don't have them to sell newspaper to anymore either. they paid the best. same with glass, i haven't check into it since i am back in the game.
35 years ago the junkyards one son started calling me the can man when i came to the scales. Years ago i had a dodge ram, like the full size ford bronco and my best week i hauled in 26 loads of cans in 1 week. that was when he started calling me the can man. asked me where i was getting so many? and mentioned i was making more than him working at the yard. but i saved them up when price was down to ,25 a pound and hauled them in when price is up. i believe i had 6 taverns and 1 business i picked cans up on a weekly basis and stored at my place back then. Then when the prices of cans went up, i lost the taverns. they took them in themselves then. Now that i am coming out of retirement and scrapping again, yes i save them here too but i still save them for bigger loads by themselves. If i take small loads in with my other loads it goes on my regular ticket that is recorded and i pay taxes on that amount. but if i take only cans in by themselves, they give me a seperate ticket that isn't connected to my name or business and that is cash i don't have to include uncle sam, that goes in my slush fund money. That is the only thing the homeless/street walkers can sell to the yards without having a driver's license here and they get generic aluminum can tickets which they give out if you only bring cans in. If you put them in plastic bags make sure not to get biodegradable bags if you are storing them any length of time. don't ask how i found this out. That was a mess to seperate all that little plastic out from the cans when you do decide to haul them in. a scoop shovel came handy that day. also here it is just soda and beer cans that get the aluminum can price and you need to keep cat food cans and cans like that spam out otherwise it gets downgraded. cat and food cans go in with the aluminum sheet price which is around .15-.25 cheaper than can price. something about the food content or something that downgrades it. they only want soda and beer cans in the can hopper here. throw the other cans in with the aluminum that goes thru the other machine.
Like the way you are thinking everything is recyclable ♻️ am so looking forward to the weekend to see what you find can we have a longer video them please 🙏 😂
Why not have a shredder for all the aluminum? Then you can fill up the car, and not waste space. I sell my cans, no matter if it is soup cans, beer cans or soda cans! Same thing and same price here! Here we have a deposit on bottles, cans and plastic bottles. We pay the large ones 50 cents per pieces. We pay about 25 cents for the little ones. It keeps nature more clean. Those who throw them away give money to those who keep nature clean. I mean the ones who pick them up. When I was a child, I often went out with my father to collect bottles, then I got some candy for them, and my father got what he wanted.
In the US you do not have to separate pop cans from Beer cans but we also do not get money for recycling plastic and glass bottles like you guys do and I think the bottles will add up for you guys. I’m here in Texas so that might make the difference
Would you pass 10c if it was on the floor 🤔 lol my mum used to tell me if you look after the pennies, the £ would look after it's self 😂 you have the space now so why not great video 😊
