@@MrDonny27 you load as much money onto the game card as you want and those are included just as if you’re playing one of the video games. I’d guess about $10 just to do those. Or, if you pay for entry to the amusement park they’re included. A kids all day wristband is $19.95, adults $39.95.
Question for you guys...How often do they have the foam parties at the "Sexy Pool"? Is it a daily activity or are the foam parties scheduled once or twice a week?
The food looks good but I don’t like the whole community style thing and the portions were small. He should’ve done a buffet style dinner where people could get bigger portions and then it would’ve been worth it to me. Also, you seem very sweet and your husband is hilarious.
First thank you for your comment below and we can engage in having a respectful conversation in comments. You being someone that has attended his dinners- I understand paying a private chef. I just paid for one for my birthday to come to a home we had rented and cook dinner for two. How do you feel paying over 400 to eat family style. Are you paying this amount because you want to fellowship with this group of women and meet Darius? I am just thinking it cannot be the food and this experience for dining is not 200+ worthy. So to me it has to be something else. These are meals give or take anyone can make any day of the week. My sister just made deep fried salmon on a Thursday just because.
Thank you! When we went, the experience was $175 a person. You are right though. Before all of the controversy, I was actually a big fan of his. You can tell from my excitement in the beginning of the video. I had purchased all of his cookbooks, and had been following him for years. I was a fan, so it was not only paying for the food - it was the experience and meeting one of my favorite blogger/chefs at the time. Also, we live in New Orleans- the food capitol of the world. We eat great food regularly! I’m originally from MS, so Im a great cook on my own. We dine out often, and our tab is more than $350 for less food and horrid company. Sometimes though, we want something different. The experience was great, and I stick with that! The video is just a snippet. There was hours after we all finished eating where people danced, and Darius sat down and entertained and talked to every person there at every table. He’s actually quite witty (bet ya didn’t know he used to be a comedian and currently has a comedic album out still). The music, the drinks, the ambiance, my people - it made for a great combination of things that just made it work. Some of the details couldn’t be shared because of a copyright claim. The house we were in was also gorgeous and in an amazing neighborhood in New Orleans. It wasn’t just the food. He put a lot of thought into all the details Now does he have a lot of questionable things coming out now -ummm yeah. But all in all the experience was A1 and well worth it. And the food was GOOD. Seasoned to perfection. Seriously. No one can determine what is $200 plus worthy for me. That’s your opinion from your experiences. My experiences are different than yours. That $350 really was a very small amount TO ME. People will go to Ruth Chris and pay $100 for a steak and $20 for each side, $20 for each cocktail, then complain when a black chef charges $175 for his experience. That’s sad in my opinion. Thanks so watching and also for your honesty.
@@yourfavoritelawyer5082 the private chef I hired was Black as I believe in supporting Black people and not only did we pay for the experience we tipped extremely well because I am a Black business owner and want to treat people the same as I would like. The money isn’t the issue. My issue is the service and the food - which in my opinion is highly unimpressive. I don’t mind paying for anything if it’s done extremely well. I believe for 200+ dollars there is a level of service I expect that in my opinion this dinner would not have met that standard. I assumed most of the women there are paying for the experience with Darius because they like him. After all that has come out I wonder how many of them feel about that now especially as it pertains to Black women.
@@hannahdrake628 they probably feel the same as I do - shocked that he would be capable of such terrible things. Also, it’s important to note, your opinion is just that - yours. I’ve had dining experiences around the world, and tho you may not agree, this event was fun and worth it - my opinion. Would I do it again? No, but not because the experience wasn’t unique. I wouldn’t do it again because now I question who this guy really is and his character. I also run a lucrative black owned business. I wasn’t smitten with Darius. My husband was with me at the event. It was a simple matter of me being a fan of his work which I had followed for many many years. If Tabitha Brown threw an event, I would do the same thing! Also, there were many married couples there, and many men. I’m not sure why people try to suggest women are just obsessed with Darius. Some may be, but I’m not. I’m a foodie who has made it my mission to try almost anything once. It’s also important to note that this event is not billed as a “private chef event.” It’s billed as a unique dining experience. I found that it was just that, and my husband enjoyed as well. And $175 pp is not a lot to pay for a full night of eating, dancing, laughing, camaraderie, AND he tells u to bring ur Tupperware bowls to take as many leftovers as you’d like. I literally have about 2 hours of unused footage from this event that’s not even included in the video. If you don’t agree that it’s worth it,, your opinion is based on who he is as a person or on what u have heard - not actually experiencing the vibe, people, food, music, drinks, etc. How can u say “from what I’d expect” like everyone’s standards are the same? I didn’t go with the expectation that it would be a 5 star dining event. I’ve been to Emerils in NO to a tasting event that cost much more, was family style, and people had no problem with it. I don’t like what he is being accused of or many of his actions, but I can’t say that fact changes the fact that we had a good time at his experience. Also, why do people care so much about why people were fans of Darius? It’s almost like the people who hate him are just as obsessed as his fans. If it’s not affecting their pockets, why are people so obsessed with the reasons why. It’s a lil crazy to me - people hate him but wanna know what’s magical about him?! Weird. It was simple to me. I’d watched him for years and wanted to taste his food , and clearly I wasn’t the only one cuz it sold out in minutes.
@@hannahdrake628 and girl what do you expect for $175pp in NO? Clearly you don’t do fine dining often cuz that’s nothing.. you specifically said it wasn’t worth $200 so how is it not about the money now?
Hey everyone!!! Please note that I have no issue with you coming here to state your disdain with Darius. I have been paying attention to all of the allegations, and some are terrible. HOWEVER, please let’s engage in positive discourse. It is not necessary to attack me or anyone else for documenting this experience. This video was BEFORE most of those allegations. I welcome your comments, but just know that I will give as good as you do, then block you. #respectfully
Thanks for your sweet compliment. I stand by what I said about doing your OWN research then reaching a conclusion. This experience was well before this recent wave of accusations (some of which are old and have been disproven). I will continue to do my due diligence as I sure you have done. Thanks for watching!
Me and my husband are booked for Jamaica this August. Does Club Mobay provide food, drinks upon arrival too? I keep hearing about departure but not really arrival
Yes they do. They offer food and drinks upon arrival and departure. The first part of the video was the food and drinks we had upon arrival. They also get your checked luggage while you partake in the food and drinks.
I did not know that Club Pancha was there. I had even told my husband I wanted to be at a club! Oh well just an excuse to go back. Thanks for the video.
Loved the videos in Jamaica. My husband and I went there too. I came across your video while I rewatched ours and it took me back! I am looking forward to going back ... PS did you still have your July trip planned with COVID19? If so I’ll be looking forward to the vlog to see what things might be different. Congratulations as well in your wedding!
Very informative and awesome video! Do you feel that Reggae had more of a young party vibe? Did Palace get as live as Reggae? From your video, Palace was a bit more laid back and relaxed vibe. My girl's and I are going on our girl's trip here next year and we are stuck between Palace or Reggae! Most are single so I don't want to pick somewhere with a relaxed and couples feel.
Ro Valentine Reggae was definitely a younger vibe, but honestly we had more fun at Palace. The Aqua Bar at Palace was live every night! (With many single people). We also liked the fact that if we got bored we could walk right on over to Reggae. We would pregame at Palace, then go to Reggae where the party started much later. I’m my opinion, the food was also much better at Palace.
SO SORRY GUYS!! There was a copyright claim, and instead of recording over the proper music, the replacement track was recorded over the first part of the video.
