Hey all! This is Megabladej and I want to welcome you to my channel!
If you love retro and Indie games, your in the right place! I've been a gamer since the NES days (yes I Know, I'm old. Shut up!). When you look at it, its amazing how many games and consoles never made it out west. I loved discovering and playing old games from these systems and thought others might enjoy it as well.
I specialize in playing and reviewing games that never left Japan but passionate fans translated, so we in the English speaking world can enjoy them. Through this channel I've become a fan of many amazing franchises that are little known out west.
I try my best to upload a video Monday through Thursday, sometimes Friday if I feel like it (Saturday or Sunday on special occasion ...that's me time darn it!)
If you enjoy my videos, please like them, leave a comment and subscribe to the channel for playthoughs, reviews and more of my poor attempts to entertain you all! See you all next mission!
Here are my thoughts. I will say that this is a major improvement improvement over last years demo. The controls also feel a lot better, though I would not recommend using the spin dash as it seems to lead to a lot of death due to the small space to move in. The boss fight was simple but fun. While I enjoyed the demo, as a kid, this would have frustrated the crap out of me if I had owned 32X but it's still neat to see what could have been. I'd say give it a go if your a fan of the 32X. Good Job RetroDev, looking forward to seeing this finished.
Hey all. SO here are my thoughts. Overall not a bad demo. The graphics are bight and colorful, controls felt pretty good and responsive and it was just plan fun. There was one section were I clipped through the ground, but besides that no major glitches. Never played Sonic rush and now this makes we want to give it a try. I'll keep my eyes on it. Have you played the demo? What do you think about it? Let me know in the comments!
I totally love this game me and my friends always smoke some weed n play this 3 or 4 player. im so happy a english translation came out recently cuz this easily became my favorite game this year
10:30 - As Mario & Luigi's new installment was announced, it was confirmed that some who worked at AlphaDream are returning to work on the newest installment. Therefore, if Brothership (the new installment in the M&L series) is positively received, there's a chance that AlphaDream might get a successor and Tomato Adventure might not only get a remake, but the long-awaited sequel. And boy I HOPE this happens. :D
nos acompañaras a mi pana y a mi en esta travesia llamada: droppear un juego y verlo en youtube como buenos fanes de persona que somos. Thank you very much. You're cool bro, expect a last comment on the last episode on like-, 10 months or so. XOXO. (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) .ᐟ.ᐟ
Thanks for watching. It depends. If you take the time to do all the side quest, then you can become over powered very fast. If you did not do the side quest I can the see the game being a lot harder.
Thanks for playing my translation! I agree with you that the game is pretty difficult, once I finish translating the game's manual, I might make a guide for this game to help others.
Not too long ago I first caught a trailer of this fan-translation, and heard it was rumoured as a legendarily bad RPG. And after just one hour of this I gotta admit... I didn't know HOW bad it could get. I mean it is FASCINATING to see a game flub SO much. The plot doesn't really let any event linger or affect teh characters, a bunch of things just HAPPEN while nothing sinks in or feels like it's important. We get a Star Wars text crawl of exposition that has a bunch of phrases I have no context for and aren't relaly well explained in the cutscenes that follow, said cutscenes shows a planetary bombardment of some sort that feels totally at odds with the medieval fantasy monsters that then kidnap a child, said kidnapping feels like it ought to be a mid-game plot twist but now we just know that's what happens and it's gonn hang over us until they show what kind of prince Kai was, and then the Obligatory Sacrificial Mentor just casually brings up that super-powered heroes exist and nobody elaborates on that at all. Everyone just kinda shrugs their shoulders and moves on after his death, with no one even acting all that sad about his death anyway and Boo Rei fades out of existence leaving me uncertain of whether he's dead or just disappeared... it's all just a bunch of events that I feel absolutely no emotional investment in or reaction to. And that's just storytelling flubs, the game itself just generously gives you more and more ! Embarrassing animations like the whole fight between demons and prisoners where they just waved their arms around like they were slapping the air, the Wardens model looked bigger on the field than it did inside the battle-screen, the game loads EVERYTIME you enter a building or have the characters run up to attack or show the damage numbers, and even if being able to save eveywhere is cool it looked like you soft-locked yourself inside the bedroom in the ruined city? So if you had saved in there restart would be the only way out. And good lord there was not ONE song that didn't just turn into irritating noise, and the old wizard-shopkeeper in the last town had voice lines from a young female shopkeeper... this game is inept on EVERY level. It's almost adorable to see them try and make a game out of all these bad decisions. Probably won't try and search out more of it since I feel like this one hour has shown me all I need to know about the game, but I feel enlightened by what I have seen. I now know A depth that PS1 games can sink to, and one of the very worst indeed... very worst SO far, at least.
for the past couple years iv seen this game around and never knew it was considered a bad game until the translation patch came out and it seems like people only mention the graphics and music being bad and not much about the gameplay/progression etc just from what iv seen it seems more generic and not memorable outside of the funny intro. but i think id rather play this then eternal Quest on PS2 that game is truly horrendous in every way
This was my first time hearing about this game. Yeah, the graphics and music and not good. Combat is ok, simple but ok. May need to play more to make a final verdict. And thanks for the warning on eternal Quest. Will stay away form that one.
This game is mostly just well-known for being one of the absolute worst JRPGs on the system, if not one of the worst JRPGs ever. It's rare that a game does absolutely everything wrong like this one, hahah. At least it's fairly short (10-15h at most), but there are gamebreaking bugs later on, so you may end up having to replay it from the start. It really is 'something', especially for 1998, one year after FF 7. (also, the drama CD has most of the relevant backstory for this game)
Of course there a drama CD with more backstory. Gotta sell that merchandise! But yeah, graphics and music are not good. Combat seems OK, just really basic so far. If it's that short of a game, may come back and give this a play through.
My Translation Wishlist: Tengai Makyō II Manjimaru Mitsumete Knight (PS1) Emerald Dragon (PC Engine CD) (While The Project Itself Was On A Hiatus, The Translator Nightwolve Blocked Me On Twitter For Unknown Reasons So It's Unlikely That I Would Be Able To See His Later Tweets At That Point) Growlanser 1 (PS1) Princess Crown (Sega Saturn) (Unlikely Because The Translation Project Has Been Progressing Slowly And Translator Cyber WarriorX Was Trying To Juggle His Work With This Game After His Father Died) Solid Runner (SFC) (Pessimistic Because Gideon Zhi Rarely Gives Updates On How It's Translation Was Going) Ore No Shikabane O Koete Yuke (PS1) Nanatsu Kaze No Shima Monogatari (Sega Saturn) Sakura Wars 2: Thou Shall Not Die The Super Robot Wars Alpha Quadrilogy (1,Gaiden,2,3) Super Robot Wars Complete Box (PS1) Super Robot Wars F Final (PS1/Saturn) Kasei Monogatari (PS1) Tokyo Dungeon (PS1) Weltorv Estelia (PS1) Shachou Eiyuuden (PS1) Veldeselba Senki (PS1) Pop'n Tanks (PS1) Eldergate (PS1) Khamrai (PS1) London Seirei Tanteidan (PS1) Ningyo No Rakuin(PS1) Hanjuku Hero Series (Famicom, SFC, PS2)
Encounter rates in these old school RPGs are RIDICULOUS! This the main reason i never got into this genre when i was younger. Plus I couldn't really read English until the about 6th 7th grade😂💯🤟🏻🇲🇪
A man of culture. Metal Max saga needs a bigger fandom so we can have at leats another main game, also the metal max 4 fan translation project seems to be dead up to this date.
@@MEGABLADEJ Aparently the main translator PC broke and was trying to replace it or something like that, but really dont know to well. Really a shame but hey i learning japanese right now to play mm4 and others jrpg that never came to the west so something good came out of it.
