I need a wireless controller and a newer router for a simple home network - I'll probably get this yoke as the sw omada seems to work well to facilitate fast roaming.
@@JasonsLabVideos ah okay, I haven't had an issue yet besides having to calibrate it. I snagged mine from an eBay Vevor seller for $250 so if it does crap out it's not that bad.
Did you make a video showing the use and the features of the unit? I'm contemplating buying one, however the Trend site is very vague on the fiber abilities!
why is so hard for consumers to buy these? It seems like they don't want to sell their products except through very small distributers who usually sell to resellers who are in the phone system or specialty markets. CDW was the only "normal" place but they don't have the Grandstream GWN7665. Why do they not want consumer customers and home labbers? Anyone know where to buy the GWN7665 at a reasonable price?
Nice, even I managed to understand this one and I am still very much new to this style of networking. I have a question if I may, I have in the works a very similar type small PC that I shall be using as my OPNSense box, a Fujitsu S920 with a 4 port gigabit card in much like this. I shall be using also be using the onboard port for the wan connection and my plan is to use the 4 port card to feed out to switches around the house where I need to break out multiple connections. My question being that I assume that I will have to go through this process to set those card ports up to be active in this way? I won't be plugging any end-hardware directly to the OPNsense box.
Jason .. I have to say is one of the nicest guys I have come across in a long time. I had Protectli / OPNSense issues and I contacted Jason and he helped me. I am now working and he deserves all the credit and a sub. He is a total rock star in my mind and deserves huge thanks for helping me out on a weekend when he could surely be doing other things. It is SO appreciated. If you are reading this, give him a sub as I think that few people would do what he did for a complete stranger.
Hlw. Thank you, and hope you are very well. Your video-making is very good. Your content ideas are very good. If you permit me, I will share some information to increase the channel. You get lots of subscriptions and views. Can I suggest growing your RU-vid channel?
Great video. Im researching VLANs for a small home network. I have my main multi gig Fit 28POE managed switch and a 2nd switch that branches from the main. This branch has 2 AP's and a Doorbird gate keypad. Im not sure if VLANs will help with routing all those devices on the 2nd switch coming to one main port on the main switch. The 2nd switch is another managed switch as well (28POE). Its confusing to me, maybe I need to branch to a small router first then to 2nd switch?
Hey Jason, do you have anymore videos of you using and doing a demo on this device. Looking to buy one so wanted to see the PDF reporting feature. Thanks
I have given up on PPSK. So now what I am thinking is to create four different SSID's that each have their own VLAN ID assigned however, I want most of them to work on the 6ghz 6e band with WPA3.. I have a U6LR that can but the performance is awful even if you are standing 1 foot, 25 ' or 50' away. It is fed by a 2.5ghz port switch on my Mikrotik Switch_CRS310-8G+2S+IN. Ineternet is 1.2Gbps and router is pfsense on Intel i5 with 2.5 gbps port going to 2.5gbps port on switch. My i7 PC in the same room on 10g port to switch gets 806 gpbs internet speeds an U6LR gets 425 Mbps when all these devices are in 1 small room. Does anyone know a list of AP's that can do this and maintain WPA3 on 6ghz?
Hey Jason... Great video, looks like a fantastic labeller with so many labelling options. I could do with one of these seeing as I've just been doing a new patch panel installation video and my new upcoming series 😁. Looking forward to the how to use/testing video!
@@TechOut I had just listened to 2 other videos and was able to hear them fine. When I went to this video I couldn't hear anything until I turned up the volume.
I am locked out! Dumbass here did not enable the opt ports before I switched to bridge…..so now I can’t connect to anything. Any ideas on how to fix it. Any help much appreciated.
nvm......restored from a backup while booting the box with a monitor and keyboard connected....did not realize there was an automatic backup you could get to from there ;)
hi, dear teacher; i have configured the vpn (client remote access), but an error has occurred (VAS/VPN server The connection was prevented because of a policy on your RAS/VPN server. Specifically the authentication method used by the server to verify ..), how i should this problem?
i have a solution, place it on charger then when the back is warm remove it then press and hold the bottom button and place it on the wireless charger while holding the bottom button,it should start showing charging icon
I did this and i have internet on all ports but i cant ping my computers or see network share. Edit. Found the fix here in comments section. System ‣ Settings ‣ Tunables and change "net.link.bridge.pfil_member" to 0 and "net.link.bridge.pfil_bridge" to 1
Awesome video! Not sure why there was no mid span in there, havnt had that happen before 😲 Send us a DM of a tool that can help you better, and we can have that sent over 😁
