The thing I love about mine is that I can plow onto the turf and it doesn't tear it up AT ALL. Is there a reason why you reversed the swivel upside down? This is a good design, and I'm thinking about doing this to mine. Been plowing with mine for 9 years now.
Nice Job I am going to add your mods to mine as well! Here's a video of mine in operation on 06 F350 Diesel ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vMiH1vxAKw0.html
Hello joshua will the plow push if you have it a couple inches off the grounds??? looking at buying one of these same model and it pushes on the grounds great but will it work when raised a little
By appearances the back drag was maybe 4 inches? If i used it that way on driveways i would still have to go shovel it (plus id have hard pack to scrape at). Having said that, it appears much faster than just using a snowblower and wide shovels. I just don't know how much faster, if i have to shovel my tire tracks every time i clear it. I wonder if a weight plate could be applied to get it deeper than it goes here? Perhaps a different kind of reinforcement for the rubber scrape blade so it is not compelled to lift when pulling snow. I have a RWD f150 with weight on the back (sand, salt, and snowblower w/hitch mounted carrier). My concern is how useful it might be in deep snow near 10 or if I would need to do 2 sessions during a long or deep show event? Also curious if it could be hooked to the rear hitch so it can push when needed but mostly drags snow... Just not curious enough to try it myself lol
Hey Joshua my brother was asking about a plow for his 09 Ridgeline, could you please send me some info on this to see if we could replicate it at home. andtefrias01@gmail.com
JoshuaK, this is seriously amazing. Can you send any additional info/design/pics to me at bake9365@ gmail.com? Going to take it to a local shop and see if they can replicate for me! Thank you
well joshua , if you dont mind but im gonna kindna grab your winch idea very cleaver idea man . i bught one too snowsport plow like yours but had to brainstorm abit to have it in the front works great fckin love it , however now need to adjest here n there lol. anyway great video n idea you created bud - happy plowin ehh
Hey JoshuaK, thanks for the video. I'm likely about to buy one of these for my 07 Ridgeline. Adding in the winch kit and down pressure they sell. What width is your blade? The 84 inch or the 96? I want to be sure it covers my RL's track width when angled. Much appreciated!
@@faronf2006 I ended up going the "84 and it works fine for my purposes. Angled it just covers the wheel track of my 07 Ridgleine. Thanks for the advice!
thanks for the video, but the music is distracting and very unnecessary. i shouldn't have to turn down the volume or mute it to watch a video. no music = better video, thanks.
they are not a piece of shit...only the people that say that are a piece of shit...lol they work great and they have a 2-3 inch gap underneath when in reverse. these save the life of your yard.
Actually the back drag blade itself added some weights and works fine with less snow but yeah it definitely needs a hydraulic pressure for the better job.
@@drakewesterman9798 It's how its engineered, it doesnt back drag, it flips back in reverse, and rotates on the rubber 'feet', which rolls/tips it up like 5"....that's deep snow in the video, so it looks like he is dragging...Cool little plows, I beat the snot out of mine 5 yrs now and still kicks ass...Nothing like being warm ,dry, radio cranking and moving snow !!
No not at all. I've been plowing multiple properties(residential) for 3 years with this set up and Ridgeline is still solid. As long as you play within the limit, it doesn't give much strain to the truck. Residential driveways are pretty easy for any trucks. Even UTV plow with heavier blades. I also do lots of heavy loads and towings up to limit and Ridgeline handles well with no issue. Ridgeline is tougher than people think!
BEst $$$ I ever spent...and I'm in NH...5 yrs still kicks ass every storm. I've run it backwards on an SUV ( which sucks, but works...lol). Never hurt my truck @ all. I also have a tension system WAY better than their strap deal...dont bother. Mine 'Squeegees" the driveway now. Love being warm and dry in the truck. Get it...ZERO regrets!
