5:40 Ya my last bottom screw rounded out. So frustrating. Think I realized why the last bolt always gets stripped, bc the materials to make the tools and the nuts n bolts suck, so the tools get worn and it's just enough that the cheap soft material is the nuts n bolts round off too. Hence, there's not a fkn problem. So aggravating. They should just make stuff right instead of skimpin. Cheap bastards. Trying for extreme profits effects other people's productivity.
shows your hand hair more than anything else. Make sure to use T27 and make note of where the fitment bottom is bc the cable play length is very important. The bottom latch may not properly latch hold.
It might have stripped the threads on the bolt. Is it hard to turn or easy to turn. You may take a pair of pliers and turn while pulling out on the bolt
Would this work on the 96 sedan deville?? I installed after market stereo and something happened stereo worked but it shut off and now stereo trunk and gas lid wont work I have to use key with trunk and pull gas lid open and no stereo still
Replaced mine also. But now latch don't catch. Rechecked everything 3 times. Still not catching. I can get the latch to catch on a screwdriver fine. Removed bottom latch from door with cable still attached and it catchs and releases fine. It's like the bottom part doesn't go in the latch far enough. I'm not seeing any way to adjust it. Help? Lol
Are you sure you purchased the right replacement parts? They should match the old ones. Make sure they are not to long or it will make the latch semi open and will not grab.
You were able to successfully remove the bolt? If you did and you replaced the clutch with the bearing in it, how does the new bearing for onto the shaft? Is that where the snap ring holds it in place?

Thank you so much for this video. All my magnets of my 60Hp outboard were loose. I glued them back in, without result. No charging. I had 3 magnets the wrong way ;-)
Awesome! I thought I was totally screwed. But then your video was the first thing that came up in a google search. In hindsight the solution seems obvious, but I don't know if I ever would have thought of it. Thanks for posting, much appreciated! BTW you said you could use a flat head screwdriver to wedge the clutch to hold it in place. Is that what you did? That thing is ridiculous, like you said, it seems like they made it that way to prevent people from fixing their own cars. Anyway thanks again!
If it wasnt for this video i would rip the hood in half lol thanks. Wont start, gets no fuel. Starts with fluid. , will probe the wires to the carb and plugs were stoich tan.
The dealership wants $175 bucks to diagnose all of those same problems on my 2002 Deville. Once I figure out how to remove the rear seat back, I'll be able to get to it. Mine just popped when I connected a brand new battery. The good stuff still works, like a/c, engine, some of the lights. But fuel cap release, parking brake release, trunk release, remote, and some interior lights have all stopped. Thanks for your help Danny! Fred
If your adding oil to your truck, i seen the oil in your door, check the oil filter housing gasket, replace that thing and i promise you will have no more leaks...Trust Me!
thanks for the quick know how. I was stumped on my Cratfsman Pro 8200 GT. Having a no start all of sudden on start up. Spray carb and fires right up. Runs great. I turn off and try to start again, just turns over and no start 98 percent of time. Any ideas or clues? Only 22 hours on engine. Shop/garaged kepted. I buy only premium gas and have completly emptied gas tank, replaced fuel filter and purchased ethonol free gallon gas at the Home Depot. still the same problem. Any clues or help appreciated. It sounds like you are not getting fuel to the carburetor. Make sure there is not a fuel shut off somewhere on the line. On that carburetor is there some wires running to the bottom. If so I bet that anti backfire solenoid is not letting fuel into the carb. Good luck
@@dannyboy8706 thanks for relpying back Danny. After doing more research and looking at Kohler engines; I found the problem. the 26hp Kohler has what they call an 'eChoke". Im still not how it really it works on cold or hot start ups, but the same results both ways. I started looking at the choke linkage from at the steering dash down to motor. I noticed when i had the choke fully engaged the butterflies were still not closed. So I then found the long choke linkage that goes up to carburator and goes into a black plastic round looking mechanism. I had bypass my seat so i could work on the motor and try cranking. After that, I pushed that linkage eChoke up and tried to crank and Presto...it fired right up. after motor warm. still no crank, but i pushed the linkage up once again...Presto it started right up and runs like a top both ways.....What I still dont know yet is how it actually works? temperature or low voltage? i still have that to fiqure out. I found the diagram on Kohler website looking at diagrams on 26hp (fyi). Thats where im at for now. I just installed the mulching kit with new blades as well. Hope this helps you as well in no starts with Kohler engines especially this model (26hp). Not sure either on how many were actually used before they stepped up to 27hp and up on rider mowers or Garden Tractors. Leaves are starting to fall this week per cooler weather here in Oakland Tennessee. If you can add to this or know who sells this stuff at a great price, please let me know? Thanks JD
It seems like to me I would not have had enough room to use a bolt extractor. You could probably find the right length flat head screw driver and wedge the clutch to keep it from turning. Good luck
@@dannyboy8706 well...it had a 5mm Allen Head. I had the proper tool and I got what felt like half a turn out of it but it rounded out and now it's stripped. Do you think using a bolt extractor or an easy out might be better than cutting a slot? I know you used a screwdriver but I'm not sure I'll have as much success as you. If I can't get it out then I need to buy a new compressor which all I need is the clutch. Thanks!

Been having the problem windows door lock gas button trunk button checked all fuses tested relays but my 99 DeVille don't have that behind the seat have u heard of anyone else not having got from old lady one owner so it's in great shape know it's not been removed

No . You just unbolt at the bottom and push down the 4 tabs behind the top of the rear seats starting at the right or left whichever you choose til they are all released.

@@dannyboy8706 just by off chance you haven't seen or heard know how to repair cuts in the faux leather tops of them do you? On top of the car..seen yours doesn't have that so probably not. Just checking. I've looked all over and it just leads me too cloth ones or fiberglass one a guy painted on a old different model
I'm thinking some type of glue after cutting out high spots and try to get a fabric spray?? Idk pretty hard find as it is rare to see faux leather tops on cars.
