It's funny that Guy gets upset about loud eating noises, while in the last episode he himself made some masticating noises to mimic the popcorn eating kid. Which, as a headphone user, was like someone chewing right next to my ears 😂
It's good to have an original ps5 platformer. The only one i can think of is sackboy. Also i love how the entite series is just one big love letter to PlayStation.
I'm quite sure that Utada's "Hikari" (the Japanese original that "Simple and Clean" is based on) is an example of a song created specifically for a video game (Kingdom Hearts) that had commercial success with its music single as well, at least in Japan. Internationally the "Simple and Clean" version did also quite well. Also, if you want to play Red Alert, I would highly recommend checking out the OpenRA project which lets you easily play Red Alert, Command & Conquer, Dune 2000, and a variety of community mods, complete with modern multiplayer lobbies. As their website mentions: "The OpenRA engine is not restricted by the technical limitations of the original games. It includes native support for modern operating systems (like Windows 10, macOS, and Linux) and screen resolutions without relying on emulation or hacks, and integrated online multiplayer." Other such projects I can recommend for classic gaming: openTTD (Transport Tycoon Deluxe), openRCT2 (Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 (and 1)), openXCOM (X-COM: UFO Defence / Terror From The Deep), Ship of Harkinian (Ocarina of Time), CorsixTH (Theme Hospital), openLoco (Chris Sawyer's Locomotion) and openTyrian (Tyrian).

Rather than fix an embarrassing moment as my mission replay I think I’d rather just replay memories I enjoyed like my middle school rival football game, it was pouring rain, the field was all mud and just battling it out in the elements and coming away with a win. Another would be just a day back at the deer lease with my dad, miles away from anything, nothing to worry about just the two of us hanging out. For the third, I was in a mediocre metal band in high school and we used to do shows at the local “scene” clubs. I’d just like to go back and do one of the shows, we had so much fun with that.
Thank you all for being so open about Guys mental health 😅 All jokes aside, it’s incredibly comforting to hear how nonchalant you are able to freely discuss these important topics, even if just for a brief moment to touch base. Here in the US, there is still much a stigma around it and bias against anything mental health. Love the podcast! Ellie brought me here. Im slowly working backwards, just finished up episode 30 earlier then saw there was a new episode. Thank you for giving me something a little more light hearted to consume during my days, as opposed to the onslaught of true crime I punish myself with. For my mental health, ive been taking a break and need more content that makes me laugh, and you guys definitely succeed with that. Also, Ellie not knowing Studio Ghibli is quite unacceptable! One of our family's occasional evening activities is re-watching these Japanese films while eating Chinese takeout. Which may not make much sense for various reasons, but it's great.
I'm playing Elden Ring. Been on one save since launch and taking it very slow. Just now reached the dude you have to beat to play the dlc. But couldn't beat him. I may have to get cheap on him.
The thing is Yasuke did exist, but he was insignificant. Yes, he was granted the position of samurai, but Nobunaga's court only like him like someone likes a pet. Nobunaga and his court thought he was funny. Yasuke went from slave to sword carrying page, back to slave. The only time he could have done something significant was in the battle of Honno-ji Temple, in which he surrendered almost immediately. People are complaining because after years of asking for an AC game in Japan, they pick the most pathetic samurai ever recorded and "embellished" his story just because he's black. The Japanese in specific are complaining beacause after every other AC game with native mc's, when it finally came to Japan, they chose an african slave.
so we going to choose a black guy who wasn't even a real samurai btw that represents 0.01 of the population of Japan at the time instead of a Japanese man who represents 99.99 of the population. Woke asf like everything now can already tell its going to be a waste of a game
Im starting to get into an era of Assassin’s creed im excited for, with Mirage being a back to basic and now AC Shadows being set in japan. Idc if Yasuke was or wasnt a samurai or that he's black. For me, he looks and sounds cool, thats all i care about really. I feel like the outrage of Yasuke being in this game is so over blown by people who just wanted clicks. And racists. There are some genuine criticisms that need to be spoken louder to people about Ubisoft but this is not it.
Yasuke isn't shown in the trailer to be a "non-stealth brute", he is actually shown at least twice to sneak up behind people and stealth his way into someone's house while their are guards all around.

Sort of. Jacob Frye still had stealth, just not as much as Evie. He still could socially blend and hide and Batman his way around on ziplines and crap. Evie could literally go invisible too. That game was kind of bonkers.
It's not that he's black. We legit just wanted a full on Japanese protagonist male or female. It is what we've been asking for. Yasuke is historically accurate but he could have been a side character or better yet playable dlc to promote the next game. Please be a bit more honest about the real reason people are upset.
People are upset, because no matter what happens people will be upset. If the protagonist were a japanese man, most of them would find an other thing to be upset about.
But he's not historically accurate. He wasn't a samurai, he carried 1 sword, he was a bearer. Sword bearers did NOT enter fights. He was given a ceremonial short Katana and some land. Making him a protagonist is disrespectful if you want to claim history accuracy. If you want to say he's based on a real person who Ubisoft decided to make a Samurai for the sake of plot cool.
@Jtorch2 I understand where you're coming from. But now you're arguing their point. The franchise is not 100% accurate and will take the liberties to tell a story. They are allowed to embellish some things elements.
@dragonofthewhiteflame4987 it's never 100% accurate which is true. The problem I have and most people have is the false narrative painting a man to be far more than what he is. Especially something as sacred as a Samurai.
