Extremely over hyped and equally overrated, she was less than a rookie with the barest minimum of skill. To the extent you are serious, you will find many, many stories to tell with regard to Beryl Markham. Not only an extremely accomplished pilot flying solo in uncharted Africa and the Atlantic against the wind, (Lindberg flew with the wind) rumors of scandalous affairs with the British royal family still persist. Start with 'West with the Night' (She is also a compelling writer) and your adventures begin. Another great source of stories would come from covering the women who ferried fighter and bomber aircraft during WWII...
That is completely insane to undertake that flight back then. I can't imagine the navigation workload that they did by hand. It's really remarkable that was even possible back then.
Imo it has some nice features to it but it isn't worth the tradeoff of having a big black blotch on your screen. I came to this video specifically because i was scrolling tiktok for a bit and started noticing that i literally can't read some captions since the island is covering half of it. So as a result i now have to scroll halfway down everytime i wanna read a caption at the top of a video which is extremely annoying.

For the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 15 it’s not true that it shows when watching a RU-vid video! Maybe the new update fixed that? But I am able to watch a RU-vid video without the Dynamic Island showing!
Thanks for this video… i was thinking of upgrading to an iPhone 15 pro max but the Dynamic Island problem when watching for example youtube videos is something I don’t like about it! :-/ hopefully they take it off or change that for future iPhones!
People love to hate on the Dynamic Island because "Oh well it's at the top of the phone and it distracts you" and stuff, but where do regular notifications come from? the top. Even on androids all your notifications come from the top of the phone which is still hard to reach. If you ask me DI is a pretty good solution to a problem that, well, only Apple has
I feel like if apple made an under screen face id and front camera, they should add a toggle if they want the island or not. Maybe even customisable shape of the island, even a circle, pill, etc.
That’s not true. Dynamic Island is touch sensitive and software integrated. So I never felt like it’s taking away a part of my screen because it never blocks anything. If something is under it or near it, I touch it and it would respond unlike the notch. It also makes multi tasking much easier. Stop content farming.
Dude, just buy an android, that’s the field where people chase for every inch of the screen, more usefulness and logic, stupid logic everywhere, leave iPhones, they’re for people who value aesthetics and beauty, calmness and joy, this is simply not for you. P.S. Why don’t we expand screen on the back side, we can got more usable screen area, look it’s completely useless right now, how terrible!
If Apple has the technology to put most of the stuff under the screen, I hope they still keep the island in another way; maybe it'd pop up when you look at it or open certain apps

Horrible way to hide the sensors and camera at the cost of screen size. The screen is the most important aspect of the smart phone. Having a black pill in the middle of it makes absolutely no sense. The Samsung S24 has a very tiny hole that is even smaller now than in previous models. Yes it is every bit as awesome as you think it would be to be able to use your ENTIRE screen.
Function is good but don’t make it as an island, waste the space on the screen and distract the user. Just keep the notch and add those functions into it , no stupid gimmick

Your video has aged worse than rotten eggs, 1 year later, and Dynamic Island is an absolute success, being the best-selling iPhone of all time, and I can guarantee that I know countless people who have had outdated iPhones, or even had some generic Android device , and migrated to an iPhone due to Apple's originality. The resource is very good.
It's funny when you realize that there are pixels between the camera and FaceID sensors that never turn on. The only time some of them are used is when it's showing an indicator for the camera or microphone.

Holding on to my 12 Pro Max until the iPhone 17 Pros where it’s rumored they’re stuffing Face ID underneath the display. Dynamic Island bugs me from a visual standpoint but I can get down with a front facing camera only hole punch
I think Apple need to take full advantage of the dynamic island like introducing a multi screen/tasking mini app by pressing the dynamic island and it will be very useful.
