Hi! My name is Karl, and "chasing pave" (road running) is what I do! Nothing beats the feeling of discovering amazing new places! Whether it be wild camping on the top of a jagged barefaced mountain, cooking beside an emerald green lake in the middle of nowhere, or simply feasting on a local delicacy in a "hidden gem" of a restaurant in a cool new city - there is so much to discover and experience along the road!
Throw in a motorcycle and you have the perfect combination! Getting to explore by motorcycle allows you to go beyond seeing new places, but really experience them by immersing yourself into the environment. Every dip in temperature is felt, and there are few activities as enjoyable as taking a cool dip in an epic stream, river or ocean after riding in the hot sun, or the feeling of the fresh air on a countryside road after a light rain.
I will be taking adventures, documenting them as well as testing out new gear/equipment to make the experience as epic as possible!
Finally did it in July. It truly was an Epic roadtrip! Almost 20,000kms round trip from Toronto to Tuktoyaktuk. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3jqxZbVWnCE.html
very nice setup I almost brought the same setup as yours(saddle bags/crashbars) except for the tank bag in which I brought the KTM powerparts model. how is this bike going with you so far? I want to take it for a tour soon but I'm afraid due to the cams issue, is it working well so far? I have changed the fork seals, thermostat housing, radiator hoses, and waiting for valve cover gasket. so many issues yet it's fun to ride.
I was going to comment how this is the best custom van build i've ever seen, but, after looking at all the comments I think its the best van build a LOT of people have ever seen lol. Very good job, if you ever plan on selling these I have a feeling you'd need a full business to keep up with demand!
Get rid of gas stove, add portable induction. Add 220v plug plus place for chargers for emotos, add 12v ac with power. Have ability to have pull out shower on outside and maybe 270 awning.
the list is quit good. Only thing i would add that is light and well worth its space. is a Thermacell they are amazing no more mosquitos and you can get gas powerd or usb powered ones.
Amazing build! Quick question, if someone was willing to travel to you and have this same set up built would you be interested. Would be compensated of course.
The bed is very creative and it shows that you went through much effort to design and build it. Definitely don't see that concept very often. Though personally I would've just hanged a hammock and call it a day (or night 😄). But obviously in terms of comfort and space your design is undeniably better.
Been trying to get to figure out how to do a bike/vanlife setup and think this might fit the bill. Out of curiosity, what’s the max length (tip of front to tip of rear wheel) of bikes can you fit? I have a drag bike with a longer swingarm so I’ve been having a time of trying to get to find a floor plan that would accommodate a longer wheelbase
With the way my set up is currently, it can fit a bike around 8 feet in length (with the bed set up). You could build it to support a bike up to 10 feet, but then your bed would not be able to be set up while the bike is inside.
Great build! Well thought out and your build priorities made great sense. Can I ask which LED pot/puck lights you used? Sorry if I missed it in the comments!
Thank you! I can’t remember the brand of puck lights - I just picked them up at the local Home Depot as they were on sale cheaper than I could get ones off Amazon 😅
I have been watching Van conversions for a long time and this has got to be my favorite. Very smart and impressive. I would love to see a cost breakdown video.
Wow , I have seen some van builds But this is by far the best custom one I have seen , a lot of thought has gone into into this van. I also have bikes but never thought about a custom bike van builds, great explanation thanks 👍👍. Ride safe , I have. Honda Cbr1000rr , a Honda Fireblade if your from the UK as it’s known here
Absolutely stunning and well thought through design. Would love to copy some of your design features. Is there room for a loo or would you need a bigger van?
Congrats..very well done.…. 👍 I would like to do something like this. I would like to ask you about the vehicle: it is still on record-papers as work van…or you change it to a RV, camper vehicle?? Thanks
i do inspections for a roofing company, i think i found my setup because i have a 06 cbr600rr. I hate not having it with me. Thanks for the inspiration
