It would be interesting to see a video of you analysing your own performance... Lol, I can say it right now, bravo! beautiful! Much love from Brazil! S2... Btw, I miss your reactions to Gabriel Henrique, he's been doing amazing new content, you should check it out! ;)
Great breakdown, as always! I haven’t been taken by a new voice like Sydnie’s in a very long time. I believe it’s her emotional connection as well as her vocal chops connected with her personality (watch her audition piece-Tomorrow) that I connect with. I was blown away by her. But thank you, because now I know WHY she was so different and likable to me. (And of course every voice connects with people in such unique ways). And like her, you’re very humble and grounded as you explain technique. 💜
Here is something for you to put music to. I've waited for someone like you for oh so many years. Broken hearts was all I found and shed so many tears. Being told as I grew up that being good was how to be, But all it ever did for me was knock me to my knees. Being kind and giving all was how I knew to live, Honestly with a loving heart was I had to give. Search and search for one real love to make your life worth living, Open up your heart to one you feels worth giving. Never hurt the one you love nor let them feel alone, These will cause the deepest pain then soon they will be gone. Sitting in this little shop I sip my cup of tea, The world just stopped as I saw you walk in in front of me. I know I must have looked a fool and I was so amazed , Trying hard to look away but could not stop my gaze. I saw you cut your eyes at me and then I seen you smile, You took a seat not far from me and sat there for a while. Now, this is yours Jennifer, you can finish it. I hope you can. Then sing it.
Something I definitely recommend to listen to each person's voice individually is Lee Mujin Service. Singers pick out parts of songs and sing them with the host, I like it a lot I think you will too.☺
Pretty dreadful. She's taken Eva Cassidy's version - which some weird unnatural phrasing - and decided to throw in some more unnatural, and definitely unnecessary sudden - and yes I would call them staccato - breaks. This gimmicky performance is a million miles away ftom from those wonderful women singers of a time gone by. For example, Ella, Sarah and Dinah. Heaven only knows what those great vocalists would make of this performance with its bizarre phrasing which sounds dreadfully forced and unnatural.
the fact that im coming at every svt killing voice reactions just to confirm that i know how their reactions are gonna be each part 😌 and im enjoying it sm lol 😂
Hmm shivers down my spine Jen...haunting...evoking...emotional...love the acoustic tracks with Ian...one voice (maybe 2 if Ian harmonises)...one guitar...nothing else needed...am off for another listen or three hehe...
Love your style of reaction and comments, very complimentary. Many vocal coaches take a more critical (almost holier-than-thou) approach, but yours is complimentary and insightful, appreciative, and expansive giving the artist credits and kudos. Thank you; great stuff.
Beautifully done (you and Ian as well). You're surroundings looks like Dutch country, which is so familiar to me 🙂 I only missed the black/white cows. Didn't know you were in the neighbourhood?
