I don’t know what you’re talking about in regards to Bear Ops having a poor reputation for durability. I have a Bear Song 4 that I’ve owned and carried for 6-7 years and it’s lived up to a lot of abuse. I’ve had a tang pin break twice and it was only because on both occasions I dropped the knife from a high position onto a hard surface. Not the knife’s fault. The first time the company sent me replacement pins free of charge and the second time I bought them for $12 shipped. I’ve seen complaints of people saying the screws loosened too quickly but those people clearly don’t know how to maintain balisongs. You should be using threadlocker on them. I personally use red Loctite. Set the screw to the tightness you want while it’s not cured, and those things will hardly ever budge. I put red Loctite in my BS 4 about two years ago and it’s just now getting to need a fresh application. The key is allowing the product the recommended amount of time to cure. It says 24 hours. Apply the stuff and seriously, do not touch the knife for 24 hours. You’ll be fine.
I feel like mine isn’t as smooth as yours, but I don’t know what I’m doing with oil so I got the ceramic bearings and the flytanium handles so hopefully that helps me
I mean I just get clones I've knives I've been wanting since I started collecting knives as a kid. I'm really good at messing around and modding things to make them my own. That's what I do with literally anything I buy for myself. I don't like to see brand names unless it's like clothes or shoes really bc you don't want shitty clothes lmao.
Quick question did you have to pay shipping twice to order two items from one seller on Ali express? It always trys to charge me shipping for each item even though they are from same seller I messaged the seller about it and they said there was nothing they could do but I find that bs especially if they send both items in the same package which clearly they are...
Is taking off the latch an absolute necessarily. Bc I flip it pretty decent with it on and I like carrying it with me. And haven’t really noticed the weight issue
I like it better with the latch. I have the flytanium scales but I took them off and put the original ones with the latch back on🤷♂️ it feels like such a solid reliable knife when the latch is locked in
its personal preference bro! Try taking it off and check it out, if you prefer it on, leave it on, ya know? have fun with it! Mod it too, this is great for being a modding platform:)
Great knife a little handle heavy but it has a latch and clip so it’s understandable but is super smooth flips nice and is very consistent no issues so far

Your came with rust? I had mine sitting in a gun safe and now has black dots on the blade. Wondering if you ever got the rust off and what did you use? I'm affraid to use any cleaners lol
Don’t know if you still reply for this video, but did you replace the rep clone blade for a real brs one? I’ve never seen a rep clone with a blade that looks that realistic.
I bought one less than a week later it rusted up I’ve purchased other bear and sons butterfly knife and because they use Zink it broke apart I will say that I actually liked my bear and sons bear ops it flipped well but I’m very angry that it has already rusted using stainless steel
@@bruser4048’m sorry but when has Bear Ops ever used zinc for their balisongs? If you’re talking about their lower class Bear and Sons balisongs, sure, but they’re an entirely different (lower) class of knife and aren’t comparable to ones that cost $100 more. Also, if it rusted within a week of owning it, it was probably due to user error. You probably got something on the handles and didn’t realize it would accelerate corrosion.

Why would anyone even buy a barebones? It's a shitty knife, ignoring the clones, its $60 more for a rep, which is miles, light years, better than the barebones, it's a disgusting knife, its existence is offensive
@@TC-iv7dn it's not any better than a rep at EDC, because the rep is one of the most well know beaters. You could argue it being heavier makes it better, ig. Thank god they finally make a Ti BB, and it's not that much more expensive either. I've heard it flips great, and tbh, the BB V2 looks really good.
I kinda agree with you. I would rather people buy a real one. However you can get triton or kraken clones for 50$ now thats the best bang for your buck you can get anywhere. The real ones cost about three times that and with shipping its maybe 4 times that. for anyone new to flipping thats a HUGE deal breaker to spend 100-150$ on a trainer or normal bali.
