There was something off with Serena's back hand here. Injury perhaps. Props to Henin though

That backhand is a thing of beauty. A generationally brilliant tennis stroke that will never ever be replicated.

Notice how Serena amped up the screams when she was under the cosh. Sportsmanship at its finest 😂

William's excessively loud screams were often still audible when the ball reached Justine. Hindrance? If Justine had complained there would have been hell to pay from Serena.

That year Justine beat Serena at 3 Slams in a row. After the USO beatdown Serena claimed that Justine won due to "lucky shots"😂

She wasn't hurt but, let's be honest, 2007 Serena was very far from her peak level.

Iga fans must watch this video, that their gal is playing in a elementary school level tennis right now and winning slams and titles. She can't win even a 125k title if she played against these giants.

Henin's powerful one-handed backhand attack, which was unpredictable and played like a textbook, was much appreciated.

what a time to be alive as tennis fans during this match! even that year.. having fierce russian player with their unique playing style and personality.. something imo we are lack of in todat's game. both safina and dementieva alongside jankovic and pliskova are just unlucky to never having a slam title. however they have their own term on being successful tennis player.

I remember this match. Serena's injury prevented her from serving her normal serve and limited her backhand.

Venus barely moving and spraying balls STILL had her chances to take that 1st set and let a big lead vanish in the 2nd. And yet Ivanovic is pumping her fist around the court like this match was really on her racquet.

this year- 2007, Justine had Serena's number- beat her in 3 straight GS Quarterfinals- French- straight sets, Wimbledon- 3 sets, US- Straight sets.

Fantastic stuff from Daniela. It was sad to hear recently that she's still affected by what happened in the following round but 2008 was definitely a vintage Hantuchova year from when she first began on tour and I enjoyed each moment of this open with her. Thank you for uploading.

I think for players who were top 10 caliber back then, the trick is to not be afraid and not be intimidated by serena. Instead be aggressive like what people who beat her did. Unfortunatley, very few people have that belief that they cam beat her

There were a few players who could beat Serena on a consistent basis. And Serena knew this. These players were Justine Henin, Venus Williams, Alizé Cornet, Martina Hingis and Elena Dementieva.
