Not bad. Only thing that annoys me is smoke spillage when I refuel. Not sure whether that's user error or the fault of the stove. It wasn't actually the stove I wanted - I had to choose one from the range the fitters supplied. @@Griff6784
I would ask how big is your net of logs ? I bag my own as they are easier to handle and I can season them in the nets, my nets are stuffed and generally weigh around 9kg. I've got the compact model of the Aspect 5 and can easily get an evening and overnight out of a net.
Would it work with a cast iron gas stove? I assume they are built the same other than the gas pipe entrance and internal burner. Ive Got a cast iron gas stove and want to convert it to wood only. I found something about changing the flue as gas one wouldnt be good enough, but other than that Im just looking for advice?

Brilliant video...have just totally refurbished this model of stove..this video was so helpful...the stove is like new and works like a dream...thank you...would recommend Hunter stoves.
I have just fitted this kit to my Herald 4. The only tricky part was the wood plug for the cam hole, as it’s only a few mm bigger that the hole it is trying to plug, it is hard to get it centralised to make a good seal. But it is like having a new stove, it’s excellent! I can now get much larger logs, and more of them in safely, which means I now have to load it less often. I can now actually see the logs and flames clearly as they are lower in the stove. And the secondary combustion is greatly improved and produces stunning flame colours.
Every time I opened the doors the smoke comes out there is a plate at the top of my stove I think it's to do with daft is it safe to take it out thanks and do u always leave the dampers open a bit like u did in the video thanks
Your increasing the amount of wood you can fit in the stove! Otherwise you'd just shut the bottom grate which is what you do when you burn wood and then open it for coal
Hey, I know this is an old comment, but I’m thinking of converting my herald 4 to wood only, and I was wondering how you found converting yours, did it make a big difference? Cheers
