Hello, can it be fixed that when you change the size of the vinyl from 12 to 7 inches when the needle is lowered, the song is already started? In other words, the needle goes down a second later on the 7-inch record… it would be for an automatic model that is similar… the audio technica LP60
Thanks for the video! I did not see a rubber washer on mine, but the grease between the 2 silver plates was a bit thin, so I put a layer of Vaseline between the 2 plates and it works again! I may eventually have to replace the Vaseline with something more durable or more permanent. Thanks for isolating the problem and the suggested fix!
This fixed my issue with starting but now I can’t get the turntable to stop automatically after the record is done. Any ideas how I can fix it? Thank you for the video
Not sure. Maybe the washer is too thick or it’s in there too tight and not letting the part move. Maybe try some white lithium grease or remove the clip and put it back on with less pressure.
hi i have a teac px-500. theres is no lever for the auto return.its missing as i bought the tt as is.i noticed its not troubling my lift as it is stuck in place with no gear to trip the return.can i remove the gear and use the tt like that.i know i may just have to manually lift the arm
Hopefully there is a fuse blown somewhere. That would be a cheap and easy fix. Besides that, I would test the power supply transformer. After applying 120 volts to it, if it does not work then get a direct replacement transformer and try it. Hope that helps.
That little piece of steel is held in place by a small washer clip. You have to pry it up with some thing thin like a utility knife and long nose pliers. When you put it back just push it down with a pair of long nose pliers.
@@wittelkenneth thank you! This video was real helpful. I fixed mine . Got all that gunk out and replaced it was a small washer that fit great. Appreciate your work!
I have the same mechanisnm on a Sony PS Lx 250 H . My turntable is doing everytning correctly except it won't turn off after the tone arm resets at end of record. It will just keep spinning . I was going to try to clean the little micro breaker point switches underneath .One of the switches has a little transistor is series at the solder connection the other does not .
That general mechanism design is common to a lot of semi- and full-auto turntables and autochangers from the 1950s to today. I have a 1948 Emerson radio-phono whose original 78-only changer uses a very similar setup.
