Please dont instantly distort your kicks, if turn the velocity up in your piano roll it will fuck you up later in your mix, please do these steps further into your mix, thank me later.
Another tip to sidechain kicks and 808s: Send the kick and 808 to separate mixer tracks. Open a peak controller to the kick’s mixer track and an EQ to the 808 mixer track. Go to the EQ that you just opened, find the frequencies that stand out the most (will most likely be bass/sub). Click the controller knob icon in the buttons just above the piano roll, then move the selected frequency up or down in the EQ. Unclick the controller knob and a window will pop up, set the internal controller to “peak ctrl - peak” and set the input to “inverted”. Open up the EQ and peak controller next to each other, use the “base” knob to turn the selected frequency as close to 0db as you can, press play and you will hear that the 808 is ducking when the kick plays. Play around with the volume knob in the peak controller to get the mix you like and you have yourself a sidechained kick and 808 🙌🏼
How do you render two or more things together? For example lets say I have a pad melody along with a lead. How would I take those two things so that I can render and reverse them together as one?
so my problem is that my effects like my auto tune pro doesn’t translate to my mic until after the recording. On studio one it works great on pro tools it works great. What’s the problem how do I fix it? I can’t boost my performance with a cla 2a or anything. Also o don’t discord but I really need the help!!!
if you have latency, an interface + better cpu helps a ton. If youre having issues with listening to yourself with autotune then youll need to turn your DAW's mic track up, and your beat down
