Oh I'm sold. I'm buying this set up. Yeah I absolutely hate changing the oil on my 6.7. I've done it both ways through wheel well or remove air filter. Both suck. I've got the oil filter plug or top hat whatever u wanna call it. It helps with the mess. I'm relocating. This seems awesome
I drilled my holes for the top mounting bracket at 5/16 on the first bracket and they were too big. I had to find new self tappers that would fit the 5/16 hole for that side. The bolts that came with my kit required a 1/4” hole and the other side fit with that hole size.
What's the pumping loss since there are 90 degree fittings and downsizing from 1 inch head to what looks to be half inch line? For the price, surely you have R&D performed on the function rather than just fitment.
Our diesel pusher motor home is 24 years old and the PAC brake has operated flawlessly the entire time. I lube it twice a year using their proprietary oil. You can use a small 12V battery charger to operate exercise the brake. Just disconnect the electrical connection to the wiring harness and connect the battery charger to the PAC brake.
I have this pac brake on 2007 dodge 5.9cummins auto .Should the pressure switch have constant power & ground?. also should the solonoid be constantly running or only when you press the button to activated exhaust brake i think i have and issue with the solonoid and or pressure switch might be defective thanks for your help
Can you explain what the quick release valve is for that is being installed at the end of this video? I went to the Pacbrake website to see if I could find it there and had no luck.
The quick release valve is installed to help discharge air from the actuating air cylinder on the butterfly valve, improving the release time to reopen the exhaust brake to full exhaust flow. This is only applicable for applications where the air solenoid is located more than about 3 feet away from the air cylinder, which also discharges air when the brake shuts off.
This video is not apropos for the audience you would be selling to. I think you should show it's installation/removal on the driveway with a cardboard box as a mat as most people who buy these things will be doing. Very Few DIY'ers have a lift, and you can bank on it that NONE would install it just to make a mechanics job easier. And that service tech not letting the oil drain out completely out of the pan... horse swizzle.
Personally, I would have put straight [JIC] fittings on the remote filter housings and have 90 degree connections on the hose.... but sometime space limitation can't go there as minimum bend radius creates a need for more headroom. Side by side 90's in a fixed housing can be awkward and sometimes impossible.
I just installed this pacbrake on my 2015 1500 Ram Bighorn , it was a challenge to install, but I am 63 yrs old with a bad back and no lift or a creeper. I like the idea of the airspring bag , but how ever I think it was over kill for my 24' jayco w/slide.real stiff suspension now. Yes I think I could have done a shock replacement and had better results
Question…say I load the bags with 40psi, would that air pressure hold till the day I decide to release it? Considering weather stays constant of course.
Just installed mine. 3 hours plus and I have a well equipped shop. Cheap price, but absolutely unimpressed with the product far as ease of install. Whomever designed using nylon lock nuts must have never tightened a bolt. You have to wind them down 5 inches only to cut the excess ubolt off. Ever done that with a nylok? Why not just locknut and regular but you can hand wind and tighten? Not fight it the whole way down? How about supplying shorter u bolts that are the right length?? Cutting them in place is a bit€¥. Same with upper mount bolts, but worse. You have to push the square carriage bolt head upward, while winding the pressure of the nylok nut.. doesn’t have to be that hard!! Counter sunk bolts on top of bag cannot be tensioned to 20lbft.. as they end of the bolt hits the end of the machines thread tunnel before you can do that!! Ends up being unable to be tightened at all! Cheap.. but really sloppy. Would never purchase again. Air bags themselves seem strong. Mark and cut u bolts to length before installing, and throw away the nylok nuts provided and get your own spring lock nuts with regular nuts. Save yourself some headache.
@@garyrichards6041I know it’s months later but I just installed this literally an hour ago and I added and extra 1/2 quart to make me feel good inside. I check the level initially and it was on the safe area on the dip stick but barely. So I can safely say 12.5 quarts will do it on the 6.7 Cummins. Cheers
