We are a couple with grown-up kids who decided to start a new and exciting project - buying a piece of wooded land, clearing it, building a house and a garden. There are definitely will be chickens, ducks and maybe other birds and animals on our land, but not right away. This is not an educational channel, as we learn new skills as we go, and we won't be building the house (or clearing the land) all by ourselves, we just going to take on the jobs we're comfortable doing and all the rest we will leave to professionals. We want to document this project for our own memories and share it with you if you're interested in following along.
We're developing our property in rural New Brunswick, Canada, and we love it here, as it has a bit of resemblance to some rural areas of our country of origin - Ukraine.
Hello, "Our slice of Canada" I saw your channel and saw that in your channel have some problems, not many. For these problems your channel is not growing. If you can solve these problems, Your channel will grow like a storm. Do you want to know these problem? If you Want to know, I can only tell to you. Can I tell here or email?
You can totally do it, in our case because of the recess (8") in the center of the slab it was easier to deal with this way. We have only one layer (2") under the vapour barrier in that area .
My next questions are why the 8” recess ( is it structural for fireplace masonry) and how did the concrete pour go ? I’m planning on doing the same frost protected shallow foundation in Ontario . Thanks for the info .
Looks like you have that same hose mess scraping and putting pressure on the windshield that my new one has. A little dust on the sheath and scratches will form in that area. Kioti hose management sucks and that's how they say it should be. Wish I had noticed that before taking delivery. Otherwise mine is a good tractor.
Not sure I am following you. All the hoses are a couple of inches off the windshield, the only one that might be touching it is one of the third function hose. But I think I can tighten it up so it won't touch the windshield. I might show it one day. 🤞
@@OurSliceOfCanada Once my bucket is higher then the hood the hoses put extreme force on the windshield. Maybe it's something with the heavier 4030 loader I got that has extra reach and digging depth. I recently posted a grapple video and about 6 minutes in you can see it.
@@mikerequa820 Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm more or less comfortable with the front loader, but haven't touched the PTO yet. The thought of taking off the backhoe terrifies me. Will cross that bridge later, but seems like it is coming very soon 🤣
