What is a European? German, Belgian, Ukrainian, Frenchman, Eritrean or someone else? What is the speech of a European? German, French, Ukrainian, English or Arabic? Just because, after the concert in some German cities they don't exactly applaud EN as expected(simply put), he should relegate his country to third place....Hmmm, and at the same time, EN always seemed so strongly "German" in all aspects to me. Including the "sharp" German that suits their music so well.
Really good interview. You could tell he started opening up more when he realized you knew what you were talking about in regards to his body of work. Nice job!
@@erictorres2368 thank you so much, that does mean a lot. And I agree, my experience has been that once they recognize me as someone who really knows and appreciates them they open up. My interview with Steve Albini last February really showcases that, like he was definitely expecting me to be a dweeb who only knew Nirvana or something and was even a little standoffish in the beginning but then really loosened up. Also Barlow at the end of our talk telling me he feels that I get "it" really meant a lot to me
@@PeelingTheOnionPod I listened to the Albini one right after. Also very good. Steve did a ton of interviews and he seems kinda the same in most. Meaning that he probably feels you out a bit. Sad that he’s gone Keep it up 😃👏
@@katjabrod9780 He doesn't mention them by name but he talks around them. I think it's around the 1/3 mark when he's talking about the evolution of German music and how it's presented out into the world

This was a great interview, starting with what is current and not reaching into the past. Also interviewing an artist about their art and not smalltalk was very refreshing.
Hi, I'm Italian and can't wait for the Neubauten Milan gig on the 2nd of October. Blixa is a special man, very intelligent and eloquent. I love him with all of my heart and glad to hear that he grew up with Neu! and Can. Yeah, Neu! are divine, one of the best group in history. I saw Michael Rother this February in London and he's still kicking. Stefano
surprisingly deep and fun interview, just how all interviews should be! you are very knowledgeable and gave the whole conversation a brilliant structure, really enjoyed it!
Really interesting interview! Elvar, you're driving this with so much knowledge and understanding what makes the conversation flow so well. I'm also really happy that Einstürzende Neubauten will tour in Warsaw so I'll be able to see them live. The interview gives so much background to understand the creation process that it makes me even more eager to be there.
What a horrible loss. A visionary and legend who spent a lifetime placing music and artists over what could instead have been immense financial gain. I listened to this long interview when it was posted about a month ago. Can’t believe the vibrant man talking with about his work and future plans is suddenly gone. The interview is wonderful. I’m glad it exists, if only to remind us of the void that won’t be filled.
Does anyone know the name of the song that plays in the end of the podcast? Thanks. By the way, great interview. You caught him on a good day, he doesn't usually give long interviews. I don't think he's got the patience for it. Nice one.
Thanks ! Yeah I really caught him on a good day, super happy about how it went down. The song is by me, I uploaded the whole version on youtube on this channel. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wMcU3I1wSDo.html Thanks !
One of the most interesting, cultured and evolved musicians of his generation. Live a long life Blixa Bargeld, maybe one day I will visit Germany. So damn expensive though...
Januar 1959 / Heinrich Pestalozzi: * 12. Januar 1746).
You know - I thought from the thumbnail and name of the podcast that this might be a show about random people peeling actual onions and crying. Like a spin on HOT ONES. I was wrong.
