@@mirepoixmatt1 well after watching countless videos, I got the parts from Powerful uk. , and found the correct gradevoil on Amazon way cheaper than my local factors. I many to remove it without removing either crossmember. You will need a 40 torx head bit in a ratchet spanner , and a hacksaw blade. The end ones are the issue, and just plain fiddly. I live on a hill, so with the car pointing downhill, o had the front end partially on ramps, that gave me more than enough clearance.
But how exciting that would be. I hit a deer that was the size of a pony and my airbag didn’t go off. Which reminds me to film the installation of my eBay fender. Coming soon.
Got to appreciate the basic “diagnostic system” inbuilt already , and in a cheeky way too!! 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 R56 mini has similar, feel like all cars should have this as a feature . The basics/minimal info accessibility at least.
I had my dash light up like a christmas tree ... new battery new alternator and belt .. new stereo ... the steering angle sensor ... now ive bought the gap iid tool as it was none of the above ... ill be mapping in a new set of clocks in the morning ... sadly its not always a twidle with a knob or a battery terminal ... the imstument clusters are famous for bad solder connections ... so far its cost me almost 1000 quid ... wish me luck
@@mirepoixmatt1 no it happens when the battery goes or the alternator and you dont fix it ,the weakest point trying to draw power heats up and desolders the post not sure if this is a smart arsed question or not ...im a mechanical engineer who specialises in diesel repairs not a knob twiddler on youtube ....problem solved btw ....new clocks mapped in and mileage updated
Well, it’s really only took me like 2 hours, but I like to stop, contemplate life, why I purchased this vehicle, second guess life choices, and then start again. It was not complicated - so long as you have plentiful extensions.
That happened to me when going through mount Shasta. It was a huge storm and luckily I was able to stop at the parts store and get some clips and clipped back in a stormy conditions.
Do you remember if the head unit was still flashing light out of the optical port? I have the same symptoms but the optical output is still flashing. everything else totally dead (head unit, screen, underseat dvd rom, rear entertainment etc)
The head unit controls everything on the MOST system. It’s likely your radio is indeed dead. The IR may work, but other parts of the radio may have failed. If you want me to pull my radio to check, LMK. Clearly I can disassemble this vehicle in like two minutes.
I could use this too. Solid idea and thanks for the follow. based on my projections I should have 1000 followers when my rover has 876,000k on it. Wish me luck.
I don’t have a gap tool so I wouldn’t make that statement. For many, the gap tool is a necessity. This is bidirectional like the gap tool, has some key functions specific to rover, and it’s also not vin locked which is nice.
Hi what type of tool are you using I have the icarsoft lr v1.0 will that access the security section or did I buy the wrong diagnosis tool . I have a few issues I'm trying to solve myself. Please help me
II really like that bladder! I just got a bunch of plastic grocery bags and tried to seal off the air filter box tube from the inside of the box. I stuck my plastic smoke tube into the MAF hole and used modeling clay to seal up the extra space in the MAF hole. I think it worked, but not as good as your set up. I think I need to repeat my test! Good luck with your plugs and valve cover gasket project. Thanks for doing this!! Your videos always seem to help me!!
That is hysterical. I looked carefully at the reviews and there are all brands in the reviews. Seems the Rover owners are far more happy than BMW owners.
Hmmmm . . . I need to add this to my "to do" list!! You make it look easy enough that I think even I might be able to successfully do this! I am assuming that you know it's full when it over-flows . . .??
Best check the operator’s manual just in case a set amount of fluid is demanded that is less than that needed to fill to fill plug level. While this would be unusual, it is not unheard of. Could someone check on this procedure just in case?
Thanks for this Matt! I'm pretty sure this is the problem I'm having . . . lean codes on both banks. I think I've "rough handled" everything between the throttle and the air filter and out of ignorance, I could easily have cracked the plastic.
@@JG-ly2ij bought an Autel ap200 for £50, replacement key from ebay for £15, got the key cut for £10, then programmed to the car following the instructions on the autel but you must have an already linked key and you can add as many keys as you want to. I did have to replace the battery in the new key after the first year as it was a cheap Chinese battery so bought a Panasonic one like in the original key but apart from that 2-3 years on still going well 👍🏼
Hi. I am in touch with the manufacturer and they’ve provided some updated instructions that still have not worked for me. I intend to upload a video when resolved.
As long as you have one working key, I believe you can flash a new, second key using the Autel Maxi AP200 diagnostic plug in. They’re about $60 on eBay etc. & work via Bluetooth after plugging into the diagnostic plug under the dash. I was SOL for almost a full year when my only key went missing. No locksmiths within 300 miles of me had the software needed to flash the key I paid $380 for from Land Rover dealership. (Nice of the dealership to inform me they no longer carry the software for 2005 LR3 “after” they sold me the $400 key) Anywho….I eventually found a guy in NYC thru the internet who can do it for $250. You just have to remove the interior fuse box & mail to him. No key necessary. He will also provide one if necessary. It worked like a charm for me. And I was absolutely THRILLED!
No No No !! You switch the coils and see if your misfire moves with the coil or the spark plug is bad. Bench testing is a waist of time. If the misfire moves, you need a coil. If it doesn't move you need a spark plug.
I had fun watching! My ride leaks oil under the hood like a stuck pig, everything is coated in oil. I picked up the gaskets for my 03 tonight. I’ve never changed valve cover gaskets on any vehicle before. I’ll check out the part2 before I do anything.
Ok great job my 4.0 lr3 leaking driver side bank 1 noticed oil just above the exhaust manifold cylinder closet to driver now hoping they have gasket kit for me appreciate the vid 👍
I would have swapped coil 2 into cylinder 1. If the misfire moved to cylinder 1 that would confirm that the coil from cylinder 2 was bad. I think I would have checked the plugs as well.
That bolt set up on the positive terminal clamp is strange. I had a fault I discovered after I bought the car. It was sheared. To replace range Rover only offer full harness for over 200 usd. (2011 RR 5.0 SC) why they don’t offer the domed bolt Assyrian is beyond me! East coast USA .
