This channel is dedicated to car repair. Why take your car to the shop? Fix it yourself! I am here to help you do just that.
ABOUT ME: Currently I am a graduate student, at Penn State University working towards my PhD in Electrical Engineering and Masters in Physics. My bachelors is in Applied Physics. I work on cars as a hobby and for money on the side. Cars is my second passion and I always loved helping people with their car problems, so this channel seemed like an obvious thing to do!
Good video. I have the symptoms of an exhaust obstruction. Strong 20 inches, then as I throttle up (in park, no load) it starts to sputter and loses vacuum. It a simple v8, Oldsmobile 307 but it been troublesome. I’ve been through multiple sets of plug/ wires and distributors. New fuel pump filter even overhauled the motor. I guess I’m gonna check the fuel pressure tomorrow . Oh and I have no exhaust restriction. But maybe I have carburetor problems. I don’t know what else it could be.
Hi Matt. Just finished changing my alternator, wow was that a lot, but your video helped a whole lot. you were right. anything that's in your way just remove it. I definitely need to get myself a low profile ratchet like you have. Thanks again dude.
Watching this was painful for me because it's like every repair/replacement job I've ever done; what can go wrong DOES, & everything else fights me every step of the way! You did a great job not losing your cool, and also not making everyone wait & watch as you fought your way through the obstacles!! Really, great video and much appreciated! 👍
Those screws that hold the rotors in place will come out pretty easily by putting a #3 phillips screw driver in them (firmly) and give it a couple real Good whacks (the Screw driver) with a hammer & that shock wil bust them loose...works every time! Also, if you have trouble holding the bracket spacers in place while starting the bolts you can put a dab of grease on them to hold them in place while starting your bolts!
Hi, thanks for the video. I bought this equipment to diognose potential problems on my Passat B5 TDİ 1.9 AFN engine. My problem is I want to learn the right spot to connect the equipment on my engine. Can you help me ? By the way, your videos are super🙏
Thanks for the info very much needed and no where else on the web on this particular Trans and the video itself of the actual Trans as they say seeing is believing!
Woow this works perfect for my Case in my 2001 has a drain plug too to drain out the real old fuel that I was told that's it not recommended to add new fuel to old fuel in a my situation I had found your video this helps me out very much thanks for your video.👍
This video would almost be educational if you showed everything. Thanks for trying though. I need a better video no offense… “ also ☝🏻-1 more thing “ 😂 … jk. 🤙🏻✊🏻🤓😜
Is everything the same on a 1999 Chrysler LHS 3.5? Ive got oil in my coolant, and overheating. I'm a paint and autobody technician and im thinking about tackling this myself after getting quotes to replace head gaskets. Thanks. Great video btw.
My spark plug keeps getting stuck in the insert. So when i go to back out the plug, the insert comes out too. Gonna try using a plug without the crush gasket. Worst part is i don't even know if the car eill run after all this bullshit.
Great video Matt. At 17:04, you hold up a part that you had to buy from the dealer; do you know the name of that part and/or have the part number? Thanks for your help. 😀
Those head gaskets are graphite coated and that's the stuff that transfers to the head. It makes a great seal, especially on pitted heads but its tough to change out. Fel-pro has a different style coating, more of a rubber clad.
@8:30 when you move the engine back and forth, did you remove the front bolt from the Bottom Mount (Bone) to move it easier? I know in 2001 Saturn SL2 they remove the bolt fm the wider (front) part of the bone to move the engine to the front (it is in the procedure of replacing the Intake Manifold there). So I think if to remove that bolt it may be easier to pull the engine to the front in 2003 Chevy Cavalier as well. I also need to replace the Top Engine Mount. Thank you for the great film.
Glad I watched the video, and thanks for posting it. I haven't replaced a lower control arm in about 15 years, so this video helped. My daughter called me yesterday morning and asked if I'd look at her car. She said her 1996 Grand Am sounds strange and does some really weird stuff when she pushes on the brake pedal. Which turned out to be a broken Control Arm... She stopped by, so I took the car, with her in it for a short test drive, but I really put my foot down on the brake pedal because just lightly braking sounded like a worn out inner pad & a bad Caliper. So pressing really hard on the pedal just about put the car 10 feet into the other side of the road, so I was glad she came by... So we'll repair it this weekend. So thanks again for the video...
